Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
changes the way people watch the games

i will agree on that point..unless your team is made up of all the players that you enjoy watching already (rarely happens if you want to win)

As soon as the temperature goes above 80 to 85 degrees I am friggin' MISERABLE. The only time it should be allowed to be that hot is if I'm at the beach or a pool.

It is definitely the case, it is a matter of "when" not "if".

You'll like it out here 👍

Especially in SD... it is like being on vacation everyday. I would rather live here in SD than LA or SF (I lived in SF for a year btw). Weather is nicer, people are more laid back, things are spread out so it doesn't feel crowded, the beaches are nicer than anywhere else in Cali, and the freeways are quick and easy without too bad of a rush hour.

Not a fan of SF? Why's that? I'm genuinely curious since I've not really been.

No way are we going to the West Coast. We're all coming to Philly and setting up a bitchin' ortho and rehab practice that caters to all 4 of our pro sports teams. WOO!

Yeah, I'm not all that far from Philly, so this works. But just think of all the warmth!

Honestly, I'd just like to be in a fairly liberal urban area. We'll see how that works out.

I totally agree. That was why I HATED DC. SoCal is ok though; and in SD it doesn't get that hot very often, at least not if you are near the beach. And of course our practice will be🙂

I think, once you all get into schools in Philly, if you decide not to live close to campus, I have to convince you all to move around this area. :meanie:

Whatever. The food alone could keep me in Philly forever, though sometimes I'd like to move, but it would be somewhere cooler/farther north.
haha, the food there is probably pretty good. But everyone comes to California so we have every type of cook imaginable here. Awesome seafood and delicious mexican food. California is pretty happening 🙂. Also, we're on the coast that gets an ocean breeze ensuring that we aren't too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter.

Come on out... I'll teach the whole fam how to surf and you will feel right at home 🙂. Plus kids are really cute covered in sand playing at the beach... just sayin'
downtown SD is one of the most amazing place in southern cali i must admit

gaslamp district? you know what im talkin about rhino

my friend's dad actually owns a hotel right in downtown right by little italy
Word! the gaslamp and pacific beach are the two best parts of town to go to for a little partying.

do you live near bars? i'd like to be walking distance to night life.

changes the way people watch the games

In a good way 👍. It makes me care about more than just my own team. During football season I feel invested in every single game when I'm playing in a fantasy league ----> increased enjoyment 🙂

i need my good food. im so spoiled with a great cook at home and great food nearby

but give me an in n out and a chipotle and i think i can manage...oh and throw in some good chinese too

burritos are my go-to.

I have a lot hate relationship with fantasy.

I agree with bleargh and I add this to it. Without fantasy and gambling, the NFL would lose over 50% of its fanbase.

Don Draper....I love you.

I didn't know until recently how good Chipotle's guacamole was.

I wish I still didn't know.

It has its good and bad... like anywhere. For me I know what is most important so I decided the good doesn't out weigh the bad (in my case). I consider SF as an awesome place to go on vacation but I'd prefer to live somewhere else.

Good:
Awesome things to do: culturally and nightlife
Awesome public transportation
very multi-cultural (probably the cultural capital of the west coast)

Bad:
Expensive rent (10 years ago I was paying 1300 for a studio... I'm sure it is more now).
Difficult to own a car, have to pay to park everywhere... if you can even find a space.
Lots of homeless people and seedy areas.
Traffic is pretty bad in the city.
The weather is just ok (terrible compared to socal)... usually overcast, foggy, and windy (it is on a peninsula).

btw: the #1 source of revenue in the city is tourism... this leads to things being expensive and crowded. Everything is catered to tourists.

How much do houses cost in Philly suburbs? I may be able to sell mine by then.
Depends on the 'burb, and if wanted a condo, townhouse, etc. We're HOPING we can find a decent 3 bedroom around here for about $170000. It's possible, but if our budget was closer to $200K we'd have a lot more options.

www.everyhome.com See for yourself. Montgomery county: Abington, Jenkintown and Cheltenham.

msb, not a lot of nightlife around here. I know of at least one bar that's pretty popular, but downtown supposedly has a lot of nightlife (it's never really been my scene) and the area where I grew up is filthy with Irish bars that go nucking futz when we have sport teams in championships...

Like when we won the World Series in 2008.

I'm pretty sure we're food soulmates.

Yes, my arteries are clogging. But my dad's a heart surgeon so I figure it'll work out. 🙂

too bad philly doesnt have a good bball team. either way, still considering philly as my destination

I care more about football and baseball. And one day, I'll teach myself enough about the ins and outs of hockey to watch.

i think im going to need his number...as well as yours 😉 hahahaha no that was cheesy i know, i just had to

all they need is one lucky draft year, or one of this years big free agents to silly thought and choose philly.

disagree, to me sports is a visceral thing, and now you have chargers fans rooting for oakland players, vikings fans needing rodgers to have a big game, etc. not my cup of tea. i also find it very annoying how it renders defense a completely irrelevant part of the game. or at least it does in football.

Oh my god. $170,000???

Being from California, it took me a moment to realize that you didn't say $1.7 million....I don't even know what those numbers mean🙂

Shut up! Just shut up!

Not getting out of bed all day means no food except for some crackers and a nectarine.

not like that with basketball. bball fantasy is pretty evenly spread out, and not to mention you can pick your own stats to follow...i dont know how it is for football ive never played

Yeah, relative to a lot of cities it's not as expensive to live in Philly.

I don't know what I'm going to do if I move out to the West Coast... probably try to find a refrigerator box to camp out in.

the thing about fantasy for me is i don't really have favorite teams... i have favorite players. except in baseball the Mets are my team, but even for fantasy MLB i still dont root for my guys unless they arent playing the Mets.

As a Charger fan... I never draft an Oakland player haha.

Before fantasy football, all I would pay attention to was my team and the monday night game. Now I watch everything... I think it is good for sports to have appreciation for another teams player when they do something spectacular.

I wouldn't say defense is irrelevant, but they do need to tweak things. I hate when my defense gets zero points b/c they gave up TD's but they did enough for their team to win the actual game. The defense/Special teams sometimes comes up big... especially if you have minnesota and Jared Allen is putting Rodgers in the dirt all night. Would I even know who Jared Allen was if I didn't play fantasy football? probably not... I definitely wouldn't have as much appreciation for his athletic ability.

If you go to UCI I'll rent you my house.

There's pretty much no chance that that could happen. Perhaps if you magically transplanted your house to Palo Alto or SF, we might be able to work something out.

i wonder if the amcas verifiers work on the weekends...or at least saturday

With a roommate? I'm pretty clean, lots of fun, and I like to cook delicious food. 😀

It'd be better than this slightly less conventional agreement.
Although... depending on how expensive my med school is I might be able to agree to this. 😛

Nah, I don't live with people anymore unless I'm having sex with them.

But we can totally hang out🙂

Edit: I should have really clicked on the ad first before I made the above response....🙂
