Yeah, my stats are not in a place for me to get an automatic either. I am hoping it is everything else that will get me a secondary. We'll see. I am not really counting on getting in this year. I am really reaching with a lot of schools because the extra year does not mean very much to me at this point. I have a job lined up and I'd rather have two shots at a couple of schools than settle for a place that I really don't want to be, like Los Angeles. Or Ohio🙂

I couldn't make this up if I tried. It is an awesome school though. People tend to think UCLA & USC are harder to get into... but not the case.

I don't have much that I could do in a year off other than re-take the MCAT, so I am going for broke this cycle. I'm hoping my ECs and boyish charm will carry me through to an acceptance 🙂

Yeah. We even got a bunch of awards yesterday including one of the top 15 teaching institutions in the country. Arnold got lazy and sent a rep to give it, but it was still nice🙂

ucsd is the biggest stat ***** uc (as far as medical goes) far more then even ucla and ucsf which are arguably better schools or are in the same ballpark depending on how you want to look at things. UCSD is def one of the harder ones to get into.

Nope i got rejected pre 2ndary from ucsd haha...i fail

Im going to uc davis as of now. And then im on the WL at UCLA...im praying UCLA but who knows. I did like davis, at least more then any other school that accepted me but coming into last years cycle, ucla and ucsf were my top choices...and still are. But i have a fail mcat and average gpa so i didnt want to hold too much hope 🙂. But now that ucla interviewed me and WL me its like dangling the carrot in front of the rabbits face only to never let it get it 🙁. waiting for WL is probably the worst thing of the whole app process now that ive completed it.

You can be great no matter where you go. You're successful as of now and things can only get better.👍
 
elijah, do you think that the interactions with fellow interviewees plays a role in admission or not?

thanks! yah you never know so im just trying to keep busy and not think about it for the next 1.5 months. Which im failing miserably at haha.

actually you know the best thing about starting school for me is i can quit these 2 horrid jobs im working. Nothing like working retail for the past 5 years to make you realize how great it is to have prospects of a real job:laugh:

I actually like Artest. He takes some wild shots sometimes, but I've always liked the one guy on the court who is a bit crazy, not really the most skilled player, but will rough people up and is always the first guy to dive on the floor.

i dont know its hard to say. I know a few people on the adcom and they say not really but ive read and heard that it can. I think like everything in this process you will find much of it is completely school dependant. Every school does things differently and theres few blanket statements that can be said.

Now my opinion is just be nice and give off the impression you are an interesting, charasmatic person who is easy to get along with because honestly you never know who is watching/listening. Who wants to admit a some anti social jerk you know ? 🙂. Ive heard of a few schools who send out med students to talk to interviewees and sorta grade them...
