Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Funniest thing happened to me today:

I ate at Five Guys a couple of days ago. Today, my parents were visiting. My mom passed by my desk and saw the Five Guys receipt. Haha! She freaked out. She thought it was some sort of gay strip club or something. It took me a good while to explain to her that it's a fast-food chain.

lol, she was convinced after I showed her the clip of Obama eating there...

Im sorry but this Joran Van der Sloot crap is outta control. I cannot believe this kid!

Laaaaakeeeers.

I'm starting to like UTSW more and more..

I have liked this school since I saw this viedo they made:

my friend also told me it is possible to get instate tuition there after the first year, not sure if it is true though.

chemdude, do you really like chemistry?

I thought I did, until I got to physical chemistry. When chemistry forces you to pull 2 all-nighters every single week of the semester you start to hate it. Not to mention the 20 hour problem sets and the 30 page lab reports.

I attended a med/surg conference today, put on by an acute care nurse practitioner who works with cardio thoracic surgeons in an ICU at the University of Miami. Seriously. She was amazing. The class was 8 hours but was such a good speaker that I didn't even notice...so informative yet intresting. 👍👍👍

I'm a nurse and I have to attend conferences for educational units to keep my certifications. several difference companies and organizations offer a variety of classes throughout the year.

that sounds awful. how was biochem? i'm taking it this fall

Well, I think it depends. I took a biochem course listed under the chem department and it was very easy. It was like Orgo II again mixed with a little bit of bio. Then I took a biochem course listed under the bio department and it wasn't that great. It was a lot of memorization and it bored me to death. To tell you the truth, I didn't really care for the class, so I didn't do as well as I should have done. I was too busy with physical chemistry and research.

I think you should be fine, though. 🙂

I'm thinking about getting one of my lagging LOR writers a thank-you card with a little gift card. What gift card should I get? I was thinkin starbucks or maybe Victoria's Secret?

any idea what they like? Most people can use starbucks. Even if you dont like coffee they have other things, unless you are like vegan or something i think starbucks is a safe bet. I personally sent my lor writers nothing, maybe i suck ahha😛

anyone know where you can get free/cheap titer tests done? I have no insurance anymore, and while i had all my immunizations an titers done a while back, they want me to redo my hep b titer...to enroll.

I dont want to pay like 200 bucks for this...i remember getting like 3-4 titers before and it running me like 300 dollars 🙁.

I assume this isnt something a free clinic can do?

posted this in the 2014 thread too but i was hoping maybe someone would know.

hey man check out the local clinics in your area they should most definitely have the option for cash for people with no insurance, and maybe you can get some discounts as they do that with people with low incomes (im not saying you have low income, im just saying in general they do it for people who do)

im almost certain of at least 2 nearby me, so there should be at least 1 by you

if you are not insured or are under insured, you could get them done at the free clinic where I volunteer.....but its in Wyoming. That hasn't stopped Californians coming to us, as we treat anyone, regardless of where they may reside, but I'm not sure you'd want to make that trip.

Sorry Elijah....maybe public health?

working on that farmers tan eh?

I'm the biggest boss that you've seen this far...

Just bought a pack of REESE's. soo good.

wow thought this would be at 12k by now. I'm disappointed by the lack of enthusiasm in answers to the cupcake question.
