just saw toy story 3 didnt think id like it but it was pretty awesome, its kinda pathetic but i teared up a little at the end lol. It was also the 1st time i ever took my son to see a movie at the theaters 🙂. Also found a pretty awesome vegan place to eat at! Im not vegan nor do i even like the food normally but this place tasted soooo goood. I think youre vegan cougar right? You ever try native foods cafe?
 
I miss all the good stuff that goes on at night!

Yeah, I was feeling good about it yesterday afternoon, but after going over another revision with a family friend who's an experienced writer I'm having my doubts again and it needs some work. I'm thinking about revising this version now get it as closed to finished, and then afterward make a new file and try out this very different idea I had last night. Then compare the two or see what she thinks. I'm a bit disappointed with the PS reader thread, I've tried contacting people since the first of this month and only got one reply late last week, so I sent that person an early PS draft but at this point my PS is very different so if I do hear back from them soon it will be comments on a version that I've already changed greatly or threw most of it out. I also avoided the people on that list though who only had one or two posts, because how are you supposed to know who the hell they are? Some people on this forum are crazy, so I wouldn't want someone plagiarizing my albeit embryonic PS still in the works. It doesn't make sense to me why someone wouldn't participate in this forum and then all of a sudden be willing to read/edit PS's. Get where I'm coming from?
 
Yeah, I haven't heard back from any of the people on that thread that I asked. I know they get a lot of requests, but it's still disappointing to not hear back. I also agree with you on the 1 post PS readers. Definitely makes you wonder.....

Got all my letters in !! Yeaaaahhhh!!

I was notified that my Committee Letter will go out in a few weeks. Time chill and wait for those secondaries....

People do get swamped. I guess I'm just rushing things at the moment since I have a lot on my plate and want to get this out of the way. I think I'd be fine or more understanding if someone just said 'hey I can get back to you in X days/weeks'. It does get crazy here sometimes though. Last year after I got my MCAT score back and posted it in my test day thread I must have gotten dozens of PMs about "what did you do?" and even now a few come trickling in after someone uses the search engine to find people who had big improvements about advice. I get back to them, but yes it does take some time.
 
My AMCAS has been verified! The status says that the application has been made available to the schools. I was surprised because the AMCAS website states that transmission of applications to schools begin on June 25. Anyway, I am so glad to be complete early.

they don't officially send them out until the 25th, so i'm not sure why they say it's been made available.

Day is going ok...job searching which is a drag, but it has to get done. I'm also really hungry, but have no food...may have to take a quick drive lol...how's your day going?

thanks!! it's always exciting to get that first one, but that will quickly fade away lol. i'm a reapp and i should have applied to DO the first time, but probably wouldn't have mattered since i applied late 🙁.

I actually really like DO, its just that none of them are really in locations I want to live in🙁 I want an ocean if possible.

Ugh, job hunting. I will be doing that again in a few months, unless I want to move to the East Coast. Blah. Good luck🙂

My day is ok too....calc is still kicking my butt; got up at 4:15 and went to my mom's office to finish some homework....accidentally set off the alarm because I didn't know that when the alarm is on you can only enter through a certain door (!?!!) so that was fun🙂

Went to breakfast after school at a new place...their salsa was KILLER.

My doggie is still tired from yesterday. Which is great.

So now....I am going to take a nap and then do homework/work🙂

I saw Toy Story 3 and I teared up at the end too! I thought it was so funny and cute. Maybe I'm just an 8 year old on the inside.

It's up there for me! Born, bred, and educated in the Midwest my whole life, I'd love to spend 4 years in the Big Apple. Plus, it's NYU. That's all that needs to be said.

my neighboors are so awesome. they couldnt have kids for some reason so they took his egg and her sperm and united them and another women carried the baby. i should say babies. they ended up having a boy and a girl. they are from russia and the father is an engineering prof and the mom is stay at home. the kids are about 4 now and they are just the cutest thing ever. they speak russian and english fluently. its so awesome. I was i was raised multilingual.


when someone says they "almost went to residency" somewhere, does that mean they interviewed but ended up somewhere else? not like they had multiple offers and choose one over the others....

Its up there for me. Most likely out of my reach, as I hear they're numbers obsessed (MSAR would confirm this, as if you compare them to Cornell, NYU has a slightly lower median but very little variation, while Weil has much wider 10-90th percentile). If I did some how get an acceptance, I would definitely go without hesitation, but its like that for many schools since I feel a bit of a long shot in this process due to my undergrad gpa. But if I got an acceptance from any NYC school I'd go in a heartbeat. I'd love to come back home.
 
Yea i agree I think I would take acceptances at NYU/mount sinai/columbia over any other schools. NYC ftw.

but between the 3 i dont know which one i would go for, but i doubt i will have to worry about making such a decision lol

I have no idea. I almost went to Princeton Law though. I had a full ride and everything. The dean kept calling me. It was kind of embarassing.

I fully cried....and I was with 4 other "girls" (all over 30) and they cried too.




Random Comment of the Day: Every year, I hate myself for knowing that Tom Cruise is bat**** crazy, and STILL wanting to see his movies so badly. I just saw a preview for Knight and Day.....and though I don't like Cameron Diaz either, I totally want to see it.

So my teachers all sent in their LORs, but I'm still missing 2 from employers...I need to send a reminder to them, but don't know how I should start it? I don't want to sound pushy, especially since they're pretty busy and are doing me a huge favor. Help??

I am really, really wanting to take Chicklet to see it. It would be her first movie in the theatre. She's only 18 months old but she's pretty good about sitting quietly to watch a movie.

UMDNJ-SOM is about an hour from the South Jersey shore! PCOM is less than 2.

Yeah, price tag scared me away for undergrad. That, and what was that general studies bull crap? Gotta be kidding me. Other schools give me money, and they wanted me to do general studies? What a way to just get people to spend money for an undergrad nyu diploma. How would I even have done pre-reqs with that? Squeeze it all into my junior year?
 
Hey guys, if you applied to both MD and DO, did AACOMAS take longer to mark your transcripts as received? Two of my schools that AMCAS got a week ago still aren't marked as received at AACOMAS, and I'm pretty sure they were all mailed at the same time. I'm not liking this.
