a big problem is that nursing and medical are largely considered two separate fields. where I work, I don't have to answer to any doctor. we should go back to the old days where doctors were nurses bosses. and where doctors ran hospitals.

I totally agree... It seems to be an unpopular opinion, but it's the way things "should" be--the accountability and responsibility generally fall on the doctor, so they should be able to tell the nurses what to do (to a point, unethical instructions are always unacceptable)

Do you remember a post sometime in the last 5 months or so from a guy who had a law degree who got a bunch of interviews last cycle from pretty prestigious schools (For some reason Chicago comes to mind, and maybe BU) but then didn't get an offer anywhere?

I tried searching but couldn't find it. I wanted to know what the resolution of that whole thing was in terms of what he thought went wrong with his app.

Ok, I got two suits, one brown, one gray. Forget the suits, lets talk about the shoes. I got two new pairs of Cole Haans. I have been wanting to buy them forever and finally had a reason🙂 My cute feet are so happy.

Me too normally!!! I had this AMAZING Nordstrom experience. It was like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. This saleswoman spent TWO HOURS with me and literally stood there and looked at every combo of everything I tried on, pulled things from every department (she was even running up and down stairs), vetoing things, thumb upping things, calling other people in for opinions and having them veto things....it was great. She helped me pick two suits and tops to go under them and also got some of it tailored for me. SO happy. It was a great shopping experience.

Haha omg! I'm trying to read up recipes on how to poach eggs, but I'm too scared to try LOL..(I can't cook very well)...

In regards to your pot luck, I think vegggie lasagna is good. There's also a variety of pastas you could make--I feel that might be easier than lasagna. For example, I LOVE making beef pesto pasta...Just cook the pasta and throw in pesto sauce..Costco has a good tasting jar for like 7 bucks, and it's a big one! When I made mine, it was really savory because of the beef and pesto sauce mixture...mmm! Sorry for any vegetarians out there! It'll still taste great without the beef, haha!

ooooor. the pizza dough from tj's is really cheap. pile it up with sauce of choice and veggies...
OR put small pieces of dough into muffin pans, and make pizza cupcakes. They're so good....and SO easy.

You would be correct. A pair of classic, thin-leather-soled, black, round captoe shoes is all anyone really needs. I have a pair of bulky black wingtips that I got a long time ago before I understood style (and subsequently taught my dad a thing or two), so I really need to replace those. I have some awesome cordovans but I can't wear them because I don't have a grey or navy suit lol.

Yeah cordovan looks funny with charcoal or black suits, which I have, but it is acceptable with grey and navy. Navy can be worn with black shoes (conservative) or brown/cordovan (style-forward).

I have some rounded oxfords, but I need a new pair of shoes though. Last fall I went suit shopping, and the pants are slim so they look weird a bit with the current oxfords I have since the shoe opening is wide while the pants are trim, so I need something with a more narrow opening. They look great with my chelsea boots, so I've worn those for more casual suit wearing occasions, but I'm not wearing boots to an interview.

Some of em are fine. I think too many people get carried away or obsessed with it. Just I don't think a bicycle shoe (they're really square) is good for an interview, but they're a nice casual shoe if you need a shoe and not sneakers for some reason.

sometimes, knowing that you're looking your best can help give confidence to people who are really bad at interviewing (such as myself).
