I just want another invite to console my two rejections and make me feel less nervous about my one invite. (BTW pitt only accepts like 25 or 30% of interviewees.. hardly a relaxing prospect)

When is your interview, anyway? I want to be thinking happy thoughts for you. You can tell me privately if you don't want to broadcast it. Actually, all of you people need to tell me when your dates are so I can put them on my calendar and be sending happy vibes your way.

new avatars = my head asplode. I unconsciously think that the colors/contents of people's avatars somehow represents their real identity, so when the same people show up with a new avatar, it bothers me. It's like you've switched out your face with someone else's. Although, for this same reason it is extremely enjoyable for me when forum members use each others' avatars to celebrate April Fools' Day or Halloween.

Also, is anyone else completely obsessed with It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia? All 5 characters on that show are like giant, selfish babies (exactly like me irl). It makes for great entertainment

i just had an awful, miserable stress-filled day complete with my printer running out of ink, no more ink in my house, my computer freezing, and my finalized secondary being locked all on top of a cold, migraine, and 3 hours of sleep :scared:

but preschool was fun. i love my kids 😍

My day went as enumerated last night... woke up early, went back to sleep, woke up later, worked on secondaries/lazed around, went to work. at work now. =)
 
I just found out that my research partner/assistant has been reporting physically impossible data and thought nothing of it...

edit: nvm.. just looks like she's been typing it into excel in a really confusing way and labeled it wrong. ugh and after I sent an email basically saying "wtf"

Yes, I've loved that show since the first season aired. If you haven't seen the not-suitable-for-tv Christmas special, look that up pronto. It's amazing.

except I'm only learning up until about 1:40. Because, let's face it, the rest is boring and/or repetitive.

moving your fingers as fast as Kissin does in Bleargh's video is completely exhausting. I know this other Chopin piece that has runs only about 3/4 that fast and I can only practice it twice a day before my fingers stop moving and my forearm swells up from the exertion. Watching that video of Kissin blows my mind every time. He's like superman that he can keep that speed up

WHAT?! Figures though, I sent my secondary Thursday night, and had an invite the next morning so I'm pretty sure they auto-invite based on stats. Flow I might have to spread rumors about you to increase my chances, sorry bud.

I love it! Gus is lookin classy, which contrasts with the eating of hot dogs and Chinese food, classic Psych (although I've only seen like 4 episodes). I know everyone is being thrown for a loop, but that would happen with any change.

1 in 10? 25%? Haha, I prefer to stay ignorant of my odds before the interviews. That way I go in feeling normal (or at least, about as normal as one can be). Later, when I'm anxiously hoping for an acceptance, I'll go look them up to make myself feel better if I don't get in.
 
On an unrelated note, writing secondaries is making me fat. Thank god I only have 4 more. Plus, it doesn't help that this thread is always talking about food haha
 
I got my last secondary today! Drexel. Gotta knock this out and do the essay for PCOM, send them back and I am DONE my secondaries!

I have an update on the creepy chiropractor at the dance studio.


Turns out (cliff)......we were right. He is not liked. In fact, my dance teacher HATES him.

He also approached my dance teacher, told him the ONE piece of personal information that I have in my entire life that I do not share with the general public, and then proceeded to say "Oh yeah, CougarMD? I know a LOT of stuff about her". Btw, it is not that this thing is a secret or that I lie about it, it is just not something I share with strangers in general. However....if this has made you die with curiosity you can PM me and I will happily tell you😉

First of all...THERE IS NOTHING TO KNOW! I am a boring individual. Second, this guy used to be my freaking health care provider, and he thinks it is ok to say something like this? He is so lucky I have integrity and would never spread all of the crap I know about HIM around. Which of course was his agenda; he was trying to intimidate me into silence in a roundabout way.

Little does he know that by doing that, he supremely pissed off my dance instructor, who now loves me even more.

Such a jerk. Also sad that he has spent so much time around me and doesn't know by now that I don't make a habit of spreading crap around about people. Even though he was always trying to get me to🙁

Today sucked. I got home to make the lasagna and the ricotta cheese I had JUST bought was full of mold. It took forever to go back to the store and get more and by then I would have been 30 minutes late to the meeting. So I just decided to skip it and I am now getting into bed and going to rest for a bit because I am on call tonight. /rant


I fully expect this thread to get to 20,000 by Sunday night.
 
Concerning your ricotta, Cougs, my father denies that cheese ever goes bad. Sorry, but I'm not making pizza with fresh mozzarella that's far too old and no longer fresh.

cheat the accents on the second theme, cheat the beat are two most common ways. quite honestly i've never met anyone who could play the piece properly, so if you can, i'm impressed

Okay I admit I cheat on the accents on the second theme by accenting RH finger 1 the whole time instead of switching to 5 halfway thru it. I play the RH:16::LH:12 perfectly, although it took me an incredible amount of time to get it right. It sounds so much better once you finally nail that rhythm...it really wrecks the effect if you are off by a little.

what's crazy is when pianists are good enough where they start subtly playing with the rhythm/tempo. that's just nuts

jerseygirl, i kinda bailed on the babysitting thing because she dropped the ball and didnt send me the email with directions until yesterday, when she said she was gonna do it monday so i forgot about it until like 3 oclock yesterday and was thinking "if this lady is this bad at communicating i do not want to work with her and her kid".

cougs, let's jump the chiropractor and tell him how much of a couk he is and that hes jealous that he can't write scripts.

i came up with my sdn handle after realizing my original one was too revealing and admitting how much i love bill cosby. i wish hillman had a DO campus.
 
Well I already played all my cards (fantaisie impromptu and liebestraum are sadly the only songs I've learned over the past 5 years and the only ones which would impress anyone), so I guess it's time to change the subject.

So... I just cleaned my bathroom for the first time in like 4 months. And can I just say that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponges really are magical? They really are. I'm intensely curious as to what structural properties make them scrape up grime with a single stroke that took a normal sponge about 50 strokes. I bet Cougs knows the answer since she has a thing about sponges 🤣
