Holy crap. I'm looking at the Craigslist for the city I have an interview in, and you can get a 3-bedroom apartment for $550. Pretty sure all that would get you in LA is a tent on Skid Row.
 
does that mean the closest substantial body of water is about 15 hours from that city?
 
Major storm here in nyc. Tornado knocked out the powerr. Guess I'm not finishing those last few secondaries tonight... Just able to barely browse the web on my phone.

i actually love the LA weather. summer/winter...doesn't matter to me, it's just been weird these last few weeks.

no love from cali in my inbox either, maybe since you're so HOT we should send you to campaign for us!

They do! However, whenever I had it there, I had to order it because there wasn't any within good walking distance.

Probably not. Snow + cold got old after my first "true" winter at college.

1. At least some of the CA schools just haven't started giving out invites yet so there's plenty of hope for us!

2. $550 is Pinkberry only... none of that trendy Yogen Fruz stuff with "probiotics".

*probiotics is only in quotes because they're like antioxidants in that non-sciencey people have no idea what they are but just know they're good for you. If you really want probiotics, sauerkraut's the best way to go, but it's just not as cute and marketable as froyo.

UCLA and USC are taking their sweet time.

UCSF just started passing out interviews last week. There will be a lot of happy people when the first two above get going.
 
We're just starting to get a lot of self-serve frozen yogurt up here (I know, we're behind the times a little bit) and I have to limit how often I go because when I do I get the biggest container and load it up, with about 20% frozen yogurt and 80% candy/toppings. Because I can. Sooo delicious.

Nothing is quite as satisfying as finishing a good workout or run. I've had a crappy running week this week but I just finished an awesome run. Such a love/hate relationship.

Indeed they are. I have no delusions of being UCSF material so I didn't even apply there haha, but I love both UCLA and USC. I only like one for football, but I love both med schools.

I think some people are confused about this being a dating site, for realz. Let's just say that apparently several people have asked Cougs whether "anything happened" when she met up with me for a quick breakfast at the school cafeteria 30mins before her interview. wtf? I'm sorry I didn't get the memo that banging is simply expected to result from an sdn meetup. Anyways, probably TMI, but that's how I roll.

Couldn't sleep all night. Then woke up to a rejection from my top choice. 🙁
So far: 3 rejections and one interview....🙁 I thought I had pretty good stats...what is wrong with me???

I keep thinking, what if I just don't get in...EVER?!

So sorry about your top choice, that blows. But it is still early and remember it only takes one school to say yes. I think a lot of schools should be getting back to us by the end of next month 🙂. Hopefully you will get more good news soon.

I got it -- it just wanted me to download stuff and I haven't had time yet to check if those downloads aren't viruses. Did this happen to you? Did you not get viruses? Maybe Sun doesn't like me.

Yes and no. On the page that the link goes to, click the green "play" arrow button and not the "standard" or "hi def" buttons. Those buttons will lead you to something that wants a credit card etc. but the play button didn't for me.
