Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
yeah, that show should be good. hopefully, better than the crap that just wrapped up.

I was gonna go mountain biking today, but its soooo cold, 50 degrees with a chilly breeze. and its super foggy out.

think I'll stay in and channel my inner tupac.

touchdown by georgia. wow. we gotta game here folks.

Goodbye everyone! I'm heading out to grab dinner with a mate and then going to board my flight to NYC..scary ****...two interviews (both my first set) back to back...and my first time in NYC! 🙁

Totally fell in love with a guy in New Haven in the span of about 3 hours.

James Franco is getting a PhD there and apparently just chills at Starbucks all day long.

Those two sentences are not related.

How are you all doin'?🙂

Still not in the work groove for the semester. If I don't buck up, I'm gonna be in some SERIOUS trouble. Another interview in 2 weeks (already? jeez... too much flying + losing time). I don't know how I'm supposed to keep up with everything when I'm taking 2-4 days out of my week ugh.

Anyway, I'm otherwise good. 🙂 Glad yalie went so well! Like I said on FB, I should have applied there lol. Kinda hoping for 1 or 2 more interviews right now. Mostly Stanford (and harvard, but that's a fat chance). Not really hot on doing many more, it's killing me in terms of academics and hobbies and $$$. Everyone says wait till you have an acceptance but I think I may stop at 5 or 6, counting Case + CCLCM as 2 separate. Although I'll probably be limited to that number in total invites regardless.

i don't believe that those sentences are unrelated.

i had a day of catching up on rest, which led to a terribly boring evening, but then i met up with some friends of a friend for a few beers which turned out well and might be leading to something else. i'm content.

The LOWEST paid police officer in my city (of ~50,000... this is separate from the neighboring city which has ~250,000) last year made just over $60,000 plus $20,000 in benefits. Why do something like engineering when you can just rob people for a living?

it doesnt sound like they were robbing anyone. if you're up to bat in a baseball game and you dont get hit by the ball, but the ump tells you to go to first you're not gonna tell him no.

that guy is a freak in the classroom. it also bugs me that i didnt know that he occasionally snuck into my neck of the woods. mad respect, even if he wasnt the right guy to be the villain in spiderman.

Wow! Did you catch this bit, "...Franco reenrolled at UCLA in fall 2006 as an English major with a creative writing concentration. Having received permission to take as many as 62 course credits per quarter compared to the normal limit of 19"

Albeit it's a creative writing concentration, but that's impressive.

yeah, hence the "that guy is a freak in the classroom"

Let me guess... You're in California...

Yes, but you're under the assumption he went into the classroom... I'm thinking he was an online student. 😉

Plus, over 3x the max, is beyond freak, it's superhuman. That guy must not sleep.

i was just referring to academia as the "classroom".

he's old, and has bad karma for what he did to Green Bay. That was cold. I love how weekends now have football all day both days. Always something to watch! Anyone see the MSU fake punt vs. ND? A trick play and Notre Dame losing combines two awesome things.

I think people aren't posting because it's the weekend and weekdays have so much more opportunity in inbox-related areas.

okay does anyone else love advice dog/courage wolf/insanity wolf/socially awkward penguin/hipster kitty as much as I do?
I like the bad advice puppy

"first time staying at a hotel by myself" You are so adorable Att
I was so very excited! It was fun and relaxing and omg I wished I could have stayed up all night enjoying it. I once lived in a hotel for a few months... but with family and annoying BUT MAN OH MAN a hotel room by yourself is soooo much fun. Now that I think about it, I should have gotten room service (Which reminds me, I need to book a hotel for my Oakland interview still. First time renting a car, driving on a highway by myself, and getting room service alone. I'm living the high life)

:eyebrow:, you can't just post this and not give details! 😀

Stopped caring about him after that entire "shall I or shall I not" Green Bay fiasco.

I was sooooo tempted to get room service when I went to CLE. Part due to the novelty and part because I was so dog tired.

Is anyone else going to the UCDavis AMSA conference? Clearly, I'm not going for any conference business, I just enjoy my AMSA friends and vacations 8)... probably a terrible idea since it's the week after emory = two weeks - 6 days of work =X.

Did you really expect a dog to give good advice?

Insanity wolf is by far my favorite, but most are inapprope. Courage wolf = premed gunner(?)
I like insanity wolf myself, but it's hard for me to not listen to adorable puppy's advice.

I'm going to go eat some crayons now. See you guys later - hopefully with lots of pots of gold.

For emphasis, since we have a good number of cali people around here.

Sorry boo, I never joined. They asked for money and I was like "Noooo way. I'm not even white enough to do a free internship much less pay for a pre-med group. sorries" 😛

Seems like we need another icebreaker-style question to get the conversation flowing again.

I Googled icebreaker questions, and here's one I like:

You were just given a yacht. What would you name it?

I had a sort of boring weekend but really good pizza tonight. I might go out to the desert next weekend with friends to make up for the lack of excitement this weekend.

Edit: No desert trip debauchery next weekend. I'm bummed.
Nice!
I cannot go to such events. It makes me look even more like a Cougar. But if you go and need a drinking buddy....count me in.
If you're real close to Davis, that may just happen, although we are going with a group of 32, so I'm sure there'll be plenty of drinkin' buddies.

FlowRate

or

Pas De Deux

Imma eat a brownie and then get back to this hw... I'm not going to bed until I finish this lesson so that I can work on other stuff tomorrow; which means I should probably stop procrastinating.

Too Much Jesting, because things would be really silly on that yacht.

i think our engineering backgrounds have molded us into very similar people. i was just at a school of similar caliber to stanford and i did not like what i heard from the cali residents.. but my opinion only becomes relevant if i get an interview
im leaving for a week on a 3 interview tour so i will again be absent for a while but good luck to everyone and stay sane, because i know i am losing it
