Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Geekchick: With your scores I'm sure you're just overqualified for Jefferson! You're lucky that there're like millions of schools in Phily, and I'm 100% sure you'll get into one, probably UPenn!

And I just want to yell one more time: I'm done! HA HA HA!

So here's what I will do: I will spend $2K to buy my wife a really nice LV handbag, which she has window-shopped for zillions of years and I promised as gift. Then I will buy myself a kindle, and probably an iphone, just those things that I've wanted for so long!! Crazy shopping time! I'm stimulating the economy HA HA HA!

I just realized I forgot to post Flow's horoscope for the year!

You have clear standards, and you'll attract worthy partners to help you achieve your aims. That's why the team victory in December is also a personal victory for you. Stash away some of the bonus money you get in November. Celebrations delight you in January. Sagittarius and Virgo people adore you. Your lucky numbers: 6, 3, 44, 29 and 18.

i need a SIMPLE costume for halloween....ideas?

yeahh go to Fiji where they give you your own little hut in the middle of the ocean!...although that's probably 2k a person lol

I don't think a medschool applicant would work for a costume, but what if i attach a bunch of sugar cubes and candy to myself, and call myself a SUGAR DADDY!

...or i can tie the actual sugar daddy lollipops hehe

My decision letter from MCW arrived at my house but I'm at work for another hour or more! I told my mom not to open it and not to tell me what size the envelope is. I can't focus at all now...

k nvm rejected

That's clever, but it might get a bit messy if things heat up when the ladies are dancing close 😉

Are you black? Go as the Old Spice guy, I here he's pretty popular right now

You just need a towel and some old spice

Sending good vibes your way, good luck man.

Due to my love of candy, I actually have a sugar baby costume. Well, it's just a dress with the design for sugar babies on it. Definitely a college halloween costume.

If you did do the sugar daddy thing, you might want to try sugar packets instead. I think it'd be pretty funny.

Sorry, Sun. Their loss.

Sorry to hear that, Sun! They're a bunch of cheese-eating cotton-headed ninnymuggins.

don't mean any disrespect to anyone, but who wants to live in wisconsin anyway =p

I am finally home and can write proper posts now.

Sun I'm so sorry. I am quite happy to kick some major ass. They are stupid and have no idea what they are missing.

Geeks, I got the impression that they accept very conservatively at first, and so I really think that "high priority wait list" is really just code for "hold for acceptance". I am crossing my fingers for you and I think it is all going to work out. But also....that is bull****.

I was sleepwalking all night....I have a feeling tonight will be a repeat. If anyone is bored, feel free to bug me via any medium🙂

any news from the country music capital, cougs?

Ok....I will.

In the meantime....since I'll be up all night, what movies should I watch on PPV?

Skinemax?

Hey you 2015 chefs, do you guys have a good recipe for making anything delicious in a crockpot/slow cooker? I could just make chicken soup, but I'm looking to get creative.

chili! the best part about it is you can use your own favorite ingredients and experiment until you find your favorite combination. i might have to make some sunday, thanks for the reminder daisy.

I can tell you how to make either pot roast or chili off the top of my head. If you PM me your email, I may be able to email you a bunch of crock pot recipes.

my moms potroast is easily the best in the world. i promise.

Man...now I wish I weren't going out of town tomorrow so I could make pot roast. I love pot roast.

Edit: Ok, I am thinking of ditching my cable and just paying 10 bucks a month for Hulu Plus. Most of my TV watching happens on the go and on my laptop anyway. Thoughts?

Chicken breast frozen corn can of black beans and nacho cheese or the velveeta chili and cheese bowls. Cook on med or high tillfor couple hours and shred the chicken with forks then add salsa and cook till chickens done. I like to serve it with rice on a tortilla but can be used as a dip. Sooooo good!

I got rid of mine this summer and waas worried I'd miss it but I'm glad I did it.

Chili:

(Single Batch)
1lb of ground beef/turkey, coated with 5+ tbsp of chili powder, cooked
1 onion, chopped
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 can kidney beans, drained
1 can pinto beans, drained
1 can corn, drained
1 large (20-something oz) can diced tomatoes
1 can of Ro-Tel diced tomatoes (mild if you only want a little heat, medium if you want more)

If you want even more heat, you can chop up a habanero or two and put it in, or put in a few chopped jalapenos. I like a lot of heat so i do all of the above🙂

Its nice because you only need to cook the beef, and everything else you just dump in.
You also can cook the onions and bell peppers with the beef if you want; it is all a matter of preference.

Cook it on low for about 8 hours, or on high for 4. If you have a large crock pot, you can double the above recipe. It freezes pretty well too, especially if you slightly undercook half of it; like cook it on low for 5 hours, take half of it out and freeze it in individual portions, then keep cooking the rest of it.

i cook my meat in the croc pot with everything else. you don't need to pre-cook the meat unless you really want to. 4 hours on medium works well for me.

This is true too.

I pre-cook my meat because I go in and get a spoonful or two every half hour that it is cooking, and if I precook it then I don't have to eat raw meat🙂

Edit: Also, your crock pot is cooler than mine; mine only has Low and High🙁

mine is probably the original croc pot. it has settings 1-6 and is from the 70s.

You could probably cook bigos in a crockpot I'd imagine. Polish hunter stew, its basically a hodge podge of whatever meats, usually roast pork or kielbasa, you have left over that you want to throw in or roast with cabbage, sauerkraut, and other vegetables like tomatoes, mushrooms. Throw in pepper, marjoram, caraway, etc.

Mmm, sounds yummy! I'm almost full Polish, but I hardly ever eat anything Polish except for kielbasa and pierogi. My aunt makes a mean homemade sauerkraut for Christmas too.

I'm watching Weeds and they are participating in a butter eating contest.

I want to be sick.

Edit: Kip, congrats on your acceptance, man! Way to go. And I have an awesome green salsa recipe. Can you get tomatillos where you live?

Thanks!

I have no idea what a tomatillo is, but I live relatively near the border so I'm guessing I can get one. haha.

Take a bunch of those, peel the leaves off of them and wash them. Then roast them in the oven at about 425 until the skins start to turn black and peel off.
Take them out, let them cool, and then peel the blackened skin off (as much as you can.

Put them in a food processer with a finely chopped onion, some garlic, and a habanero.

Eat with tortilla chips and beer.

Yummmm.

I would add a splash of tequila with lime juice too. I'm a fan of adding booze to food. I just saw an apple pie recipe that calls for whiskey, and it's going in my "that's a keeper" file.
