I'm sorry both schools "lost" your letter. I had the same thing happen to me for a letter I sent post-interview... but of course I didn't think that they wouldn't have received it until after I had already been waitlisted. But at least it sounds like it's all good with Pie in the Sky!

Ugh, I am currently stuck at Las Vegas McCarran Intl Airport bc my flight was delayed by an hour. Thts in addition to the 2.5 hour scheduled layover. Bored out of my mind. I'm also surrounded by Quebecois, slightly unnerving bc I have no idea what any of them are saying!
 
Pie in the Sky didn't really lose it, they just accidentally skipped over it in their email box🙂 And they were SUPER nice about it so it is all cool.

Wonkaland was having a bad day though. I don't blame em...but dude, I'm not 12. You can tell me professionally that you're busy and give me directions on what you want to do.

When did you send the update letters? I should have thought of this earlier. I sent update letters back in September and didn't hear from a few schools. Hmm.

Right after Christmas. I figured that even if they had gotten them I should call them to show them I care. Thank goodness I did...because they hadn't added them to my file.
 
Pie in the Sky and Wonkaland? Pound Town was one thing, but the lingo in this thread is really getting out of control. I rarely understand what is going on around here anymore ; )

You know, I never thought I'd be interested in rads, and then I started making a list of "easy to do in a wheelchair" specialties. Rads was like #1...can't fight fate 😉

Nah, but really I'm still interested in peds. We'll see though, radiologists do have it nice 😎

RadOnc =/= rads. 😀

It's supposed to be going molecular imaging crazy over the next decade though, so I'll still be able to get my share of imaging! I'm really excited about particle therapy too (heavy ions like carbon, not protons)! I'm considering taking a year off during med school to see if I can get a research position at the Heidelberg Ion Therapy Center (in Germany) or the NIRS (Japan). They're the only two centers in the world currently offering carbon ion radiotherapy! Really cool stuff, IMO!

In my heart, I'm a complete physics nerd. Wish I did physics instead of bio as an undergrad! 😛

Eyes are beautiful! I don't like doing procedural stuff though. Over my years in research, I've found that I'm a much better thinker than I am a do'er. So, the fine dexterity needed for eye surgery kind of knocks ophto out.

i had to cut my monster beard of 2 months for an interview. i'm growing it back out for st. patrick's day though.
 
Ugh....tried to go to sleep and dog started throwing up, repeatedly🙁 Now I have to stay up awhile and make sure she keeps water down....

No....random horrific vomiting🙁 They gave her anti nausea meds and a fluid bolus and I will see how she is in the morning.

I have heard brokers can be shady. He is an originator working right with the lending company. Came highly recommended; he did the mortgage for both my realtor (who I have known since grade school) and her sister. I'm really pleased with the rate he gave us; it's less than I expected, and what we were approved for is a bit more than what we originally intended to spend and in the price range of what we've been looking at. It's also an FHA loan, which we need. My expectations have already been exceeded so I'm really just ready to start looking at places, ya know?
 
I have sorta crappy credit 🙁. Hopefully it won't affect school loans...eek.


Got my arse handed to me at work last night/this morning (did not leave the patients room for 12 hours. straight. I even pee'd in the little in room toilet. squatted off course). I guess it serves me right for being so grumpy around here lately. 😳
