I was reading that FAU thread, and it is crazy that they will be receiving primaries from AMCAS soon for class of 2015.
 
Along with everyone else congrats to all the Texans 🙂

Praying for Snow here as well. Or at least ice. Anything cold on the ground will do really because it auto cancels all activities in Texas. 🙂

Yeah, as a Floridian I've been waiting for info on that school since May, but nada. Guju seems to have some contact that tells her info on the school, but up to now I figured c/o 2015 wasn't happening for them. Guess it is, but I'm not all that interested in it. I know nothing about it, and already hold an acceptance at a school an hour away from there. I might have applied if I'd been given 1) more notice or 2) more information on ANYTHING about their med school

I think today is the first day I didn't wear flip flops!

Supposed to be -35 here tonight (thats without the windchill). They haven't closed the schools here, but they closed the bus system. Too cold to run the buses so we'll just make the kiddos walk 20 miles home. no biggie. 🙄
 
I'm scared to take my dog to obedience class tonight. I don't think he's learned anything in the past week and I don't want to look like a terrible owner. 🙁

Eh, who cares what they think? And the likelihood that there will be a dog less obedient than yours is often very high (depending on size and dedication of the class).

It's a private lesson so I can't hide my little dog behind a rowdy husky or anything. At least his remedial education won't hold any good doggies back or anything.

Your dog is adorable, Baller. We should have our fluffy white lap dogs meet each other if mine ever stops being clinically insane. Cougs can bring her horse-sized dogs too, I suppose 😛

I need a new show to get addicted to; so far I'm almost caught up on Dexter, Psych, Grey's Anatomy, Nip/Tuck, House, Royal Pains and Bones. What are people's thoughts on Weeds/Californication/Nurse Jackie/Monk? Any of those worth watching? What about ER?

I've heard good things about Weeds. I need to start watching it, if only because of my latent Mary-Louise Parker crush.

I loved ER's early seasons...then it kind of devolved into a horrible soap opera. So you might at least give the first couple of seasons a try.

Monk is all right - not really an addiction kind of show though. Have you watched all the Scrubs?

If you're into 12th Century English cathedral building (who isn't?), I've heard The Pillars of the Earth is pretty great. It's based on the novel by Ken Follett.
 
how i met your mother is a pretty good show raffle, also spartacus is awesome.

They film FNL near my school and me and some friends went to be extras in football scene 🙂 Hard for me to watch though with all their shaky camera action.

So do I. I should just start over. I never got that far into it anyway. I love Bioware games, but it doesn't play well on the laptop. I have to use the hubster's computer.

That house may be a no-go. There is a history of termite damage and we don't know the extent and how well it was repaired. There are a few other near identical houses in the area, though. :xf:

Any idea if they plan to accept oos? If so, that is kinda like app cycle 2.0 for people who need a "do over". In the fau thread, they said they will have a class of ~60 people... I wonder if that many people even know to apply.

I'm trying to get myself to play BG2 at the moment. Never played it before since I didn't really have access to a computer back then. It's hard trying to play it after getting used to the luxury of awesome graphics and dialogue (voice). But it's supposed to be a classic. So I must try!

I'm stressed too, ducky. A professor of mine who I am doing research with offered to write some update letters. This was like a month ago. This morning she assured me (without me asking) that she was going to complete them tonight. Its 9:27 and I haven't heard a peep. Ugh. She shouldn't have even offered if she didn't intend to follow through. 🙁


In an attempt to feel better, I am getting my hair did (or re did as I let my cousin do it - remember friends don't let friends do each others hair) and making homemade chicken noodle soup. I make the noodles from scratch, roll them out and cut em into strips with a knife. 😍

I'm too lazy to go to the store, so I'm thinking either cookies or some kind of tart. I found a recipe for brown butter espresso chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate chip cookies are my weakness. We'll see.
