Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Got my white coat. Doesn't fit at all.

Super freakin tired. Who thought that sitting and listening to people would be such a drain?

Homework to do, mostly easy/skippable right now. Real stuff coming soon. Gonna touch some classmates tomorrow and some patients friday. Is this real clinical experience yet, @LizzyM? =P

3-days in to school.... and I already skipped my 2 classes for the day....

We are only going Cell Biology this week. I am dying...

Get well soon Cougs! And don't forget that watching a Maury/daytime TV marathon has been proven to hasten recovery from most illnesses.

True...if brain cells are killed off watching those shows, surely invading bacteria and viruses will be, too. 😉

The Price is Right?

🙁

That show is only entertaining as a social experiment: i love to watch people's reactions when the last person in the line overbids them by $1 and then smiles all sweetly like she hasn't just been a total b and ruined their chance at winning tens of thousands of dollars in prizes

Gunners gunna gun?

Man, I spent many a sick day as a kid watching The Price Is Right.

I always liked the game with the yodeling guy.

Anatomy is driving me insane. My professor spends five minutes talking about something and then says "don't memorize this" and keeps doing that for the entire hour. Our cadaver labs were completely renovated this year and still aren't ready so we are doing "virtual labs" which are a joke. Then we are tested on what you would learn with an actual lecturer and dissection.

Hate to complain but I wasn't expecting this level of disorder.

virtual labs? yikes. That sounds...bad. Good as a supplement to an actual lab, but iffy on its own. But then again, I always hear med students saying that they couldve learned everything in the first 2 years, anatomy included, from home on their computers and with anatomy atlases, so... 👍

Yeah, I'm trying to think like that. We start actual labs after labor day hopefully it gets better then.

I like getting my hands dirty. I just left the anatomy lab with some group members, and now maxing, chillaxing, all cool, for another hour or so until getting back to the books.

I'm finally starting to feel a little better about my grasp of the material. My issue right now is I know it, but when people prompt me or ask me I get all deers in headlights or shy... gotta break out that swag...

I was hoping that for anatomy since I'm not really too excited about going to the lab to study, but I talked to one of the MS2s who said that while you might be able to do ok with just atlases, actually looking at the body is what really helps. 🙁

So I'm in Austin for a wedding this weekend, and I'm not going to get any studying done until tomorrow. I haven't studied since Wednesday. I have a test on Wednesday.

I'm screwed.

:hello: I've been slacking on SDN. Who would have thought med school would be such a time-sucker??? 🙄

Now that everyone in my class has figured out who I am I feel like I can't post anymore.:ninja:

Which school are you attending?

Which school are you attending?

A school without an anatomy lab 😉 No, USF. We have an amazing lab, brand spanking new. So new it's not going to be open until after labor day. It's not that big of a deal but I'm a very visual person and need that hands on experience.

Labor Day isn't that far away, at least.

So far my Histology "lab" has been 100% powerpoints. I am making judicious use of Histotime.

I've also dissected more cadavers in community college than I'm doing in real med school...

Yeah, looking at the body helps, but dissection is great occupational therapy

i'm here procrastinating on studying the mounds of biochem sitting in front of me...cuz, knowing how to number the carbons and nitrogens in a purine is so important for becoming a doctor...argh

damnit!

...o wait, we're in med school and they're not

Failure... leads to excuses... don't be those people.

Besides... Maubs likes hanging with us anyways 😛

Hope everyone is enjoying M1, good luck to those who have started and well to those who haven't started and are being lazy and degenerate (hehem... MAubS)... good luck to you too, I guess.

Ten days left of being lazy and degenerate! :scared:
