no if i get to have a dinner where i make the rules, it's going to be epic and no one i can have dinner with in the real world will be invited because this is my imagination where i am the center of attention. (unlike reality, where i am often the center of attention, but not always).

Ah, my story goes like this:

I fall for a girl in highschool who never reciprocates my affection, so I lose a bunch of weight and get into great shape, and become a badass doctor. The whole time, I've been a player, using my looks, charm, wealth, and status to seduce women. Then I meet the girl from highschool again 20 years later and I get flip-turned up-side down. We end up re-falling madly in love and live happily ever after.

Until I cheat on her. But I had a bulletproof pre-nup, so it's all good.

i do not see the words happily ever after in that story, therefore it does not meet curbye's qualifications for a true love fairy tale.
 
i believe lisa is at a petting zoo when this picture was taken. she's like "oh you are SOOO cute yes you arre!!!!!" and then she becomes a vegetarian and can't eat the lamb her mom makes for dinner.

i loved the face she made lamb chop had when she pushed her mouth together. it was like a mixture of "harumph" and "oh jeez"

all. most, at least. i like everything from endo to pulmonary to plastics.


i have a serious draw to surgery, but i kind of want a life. and i have my kids names picked out...kind of want to be able to use them without killing myself from stress in the process.


idk i figure it out in the next 4 yrs.

I have a bunch of different directions I could take.. I could see right now:

I work really well (thrive) under stress -- EM/Trauma Surg
I have a strong background/ability in physics stuff, computers, and/or want to deal with cancer treatment/detection -- Rads/RadOnc/(Heme)Onc
ChemE background actually applies pretty well to flow research and such -- Cards
Depending on the area, I could stand to live more rural, especially somewhere like south east Wyoming, because it's still close enough to Denver, CO to get my big-city interests fulfilled.--IM/Hospitalist

I'm open to anything else I'm good at, though.

Yeah I'm open to most everything except for psych, obgyn, and onco. Ortho seems cool, cardio/endo/FM are swell to me too.

Certain surgical specialties can be pretty cush. ENT, Urology, MOHS surgery. Of course these are also like 3 of the top 5 most competitive specialties...

WOOT! I want to sit at the table with FloatOn!

And as for specialties... Ob/Gyn (probably general, MAYBE REI or MFM), neonatology, or maybe ortho. Also in the back of my mind and neuro, anes, EM, ID and endocrinology. The only thing I know I'll never do is Ophtho... the thought of doing surgery on eyes makes me :barf:

Really? For residencies? Derm, plastics, rads/rad-onc, and ortho are like top 4. Possibly ophtho making it top 5. Wouldn't MOHS be a fellowship after gen surg? ENT, Urology & Anesthesiology would be next. Obviously, I could be wrong, but I am just going off of the general SDN 'vibe' if you will.

5 hardest are probably: Plastics, derm, ENT, urology and rad onc.

MOHS is actually a derm fellowship (at least usually, I'm not sure if there are other routes or not) which is why I included it.

You are right on the vibe though, the above are partially so competitive because they are relatively small fields, so you usually hear about more people going for ortho, rads ect.
