I am extremely close with a family medicine physician. He went to a school that cost ~54K/year. His debt is actually closer to 350K. He pays ~ 1200/month on his school loan. He is very financially savvy, and frugal. And despite what people on these forums want you to believe, there isn't a whole lot of options for loan reimbursement/forgiveness. The man I mention will be making those payments until he is 70. Long after he owns his modest 250K 1400sq ft house. and his little honda car.

I should mention that he is one of the hardest working physicians I know. In fact, in the hospital I work, the FP group is always the LAST to leave each night. Its a lot worse than most think....and you shouldn't unnecessarily gloss it over.

My Vandy rejection arrived in the mail today. Apparently hey don't like my app in the south (rejections from WF, Tulane, and Vandy). Oh well, at least they didn't leave me guessing 😎.

I added 5 schools in a panic in august and have now gotten interviews at 4 of them. All except for Elijah's school.

Apparenly panic pays off.
 
I sigh at the emptiness that is my inbox. But at least no rejection emails today. Since reading that some schools call to invite you to interview, I've been freaking out when I get missed calls from weird numbers. Same thing happened again today, when I redialed it was unavailable/non-existing. WTF!?
 
vcom tricked me today. i had an email from them after i played golf and was thinking "yeahhh interview...!!!"... it was an invite alright, to the open house. cock tease.
 
golf is not just for old men. it's a lot of fun and there are few things more relaxing. try it!

Maybe I'm just competitive or hard on myself. Had a rough experience during a junior pga tournament once lol.

Honestly, I'd like to play with some friends sometime in the near future.

A martini is always relaxing. I need to reward myself once the last few secondaries are done soon... the late ones that finally came recently.

Really, that's the answer. I submitted over 6 weeks ago and I'm still under review. People that are OOS with lower stats than mine that submitted after me are getting interviews. I'm getting annoyed.

Yup, I know the feeling. I have given up trying to figure out how some schools work their "complete" piles. I have decided to concentrate on developing more "patience"...

my interview went amazingly (and was just really easy objectively), a lot of funny stories, and the stereotypes for personality/outgoingness based off of prestige of UG were dead on
good luck to everyone preparing, it feels so good to finally have moved on with the process! 👍
 
Hi everyone! Man I haven't posted in here for awhile. I just got a job at a sushi restaurant, so that's been keeping me pretty busy.

How are all the interviews?! I have my first one at the end of the month, I'm beginning to ffreaaak out! :scared: Tips?!

Also....on call again tonight. Starting in 4 hours. Didn't get called in on Wednesday. Scared I will and won't again today. Blah.
 
Any of you guys having a hard time scheduling interviews to fit your work schedule (I would like to get through interview season without being fired for missing too many days)? And I'm trying to save as much money as possible but pretty sure I'm going to go broke flying back and forth. Without an acceptance though, I don't feel like I should turn down any invitations.

where/when? i started to just read the hell out of the school's website... but in the end all we talked about were my activities, so read up on your amcas :laugh:
 
got my suit today. I think it's realllly nice on me, except the blazer isn't as fitted as i would like, so it might be going back...especially if i find a better one.

No matter what you buy, usually it has to be tailored. At a minimum the sleeves typically need to be shortened, maybe the waist/chest taken in or let out, also they make sure nothing bunches.

yeah the sleeves are given regardless of the suit. you don't always have to take it in/out though, depending on the suit. I tend to get a european suit, which fits me better....but this suit is so nice i might just keep it and get it tailored haha.

whether you get it tailored or not depends on you and your body type. Very few people can just throw something on off the rack. I'm sure you know if it fits or not, but some people don't realize the importance of making their suit fit properly; it is well worth the $50 to get it tailored.

👍 TI actually dresses very well IMO. I like his suit in this video. Although, I'm not sure what color it is exactly. Is "Camel" a color? :laugh:

oh i know. all my suits are tailored somewhat, but i just know that i saw a suit that fit me so perfectly off the rack...it was just so damn expensive.

verdict: keep this suit for 1 more week while i look for a better alternative before getting it tailored.

Foods that need to be more readily available: artichokes. I think I want artichokes in everything I eat. Also, hard boiled eggs. At a buffet table, I want to see a hard boiled egg, dammit.
