I'm sorry if there was more going on than I realize, GC. I saw it in its infancy and thought that it was all so ridiculous and had to be trolling.

Unless the person really divulged more info than he should have, i don't see how aamc would even come across him/her. i mean, i can't imagine a medical school committee searching through an online forum to catch people🙄...if it's true, then i reallllly feel for the guy, as people post topics all the time.

Perhaps you should discuss this as an ethical dilemma during your interview 😛. But first delete all of your posts in the MCAT forum haha.
 
Every time someone says "gap year" I want to stab them in the ear and break off the handle.

i've been enjoying a lot of strawberries lately, which is weird since its so late in the sesaon.

paper chasin' bruh! haha that's just the way i've been scheduled and my youth program just started back up this week too. my first day off in ten days will be wednesday. trying to decide if i should go see john mayer that night in hotlanta.

"Gap year" just implies that there is nothing else in your life but medical school, and anything you do in that year is not about your personal growth or education, but a means to get you into medical school.


Strawberries huh? Blueberries were so bad this year that I kind of stayed away from strawberries too but maybe I should try some.

i think of gap year as a break from school to do whatever one chooses or is able to do. i see what you're saying though. i know during my time off from school i've been able to broaden my perspective and relate to more people in different situations. personal development is a good way to put it.

I agree with Coug's about "Gap" years. I intend to enjoy all of the things I've sacraficed during the last 4 years during mine. This includes surfing, going to the gym, spending time with my gf before 10 pm, and rejoining my bi-monthly poker game. Also, I need to work more hours at my job, which fortunately is in a hospital, and save money.

I am about to go to school to drop off a copy of my final paper for summer school. That will complete my fourth summer school class! I am finally done yay!! 🙂🙂

haha Thanks! It is a perfect time to finish, b/c I have a three day weekend off of work too! I would goto Vegas, but I'm heading to an interview next Friday.

Speaking of interviews... Men's Wearhouse is having a awesome sale this weekend. Anything you buy you get a second one free (suit, shirts, ties, tie bars, shoes, belts, etc...). So pissed I bought all my stuff ten days too early.

worst drive ever was after a weekend of partying at a school about 2 hours away and i got hit with the spins on the road on the way home. i thought i was going to die.

happened to me the night before my first day of work lol....i looked like a ***** i couldn't even make it to work. Lesson learned.....I hope

I nearly had a heart attack. SUNY-Downstate sent me a thin small envelope this afternoon. Mind you, I received notification I am complete last week. All the single paper says from the snail mail as that they have all my information.

Phew.

I had to cross myself before opening it. lol Downstate is pretty much my top choice (at least now.. who knows once I start hearing back from places), not including my few reaches/hail mary's.
 
i'm trying to decide if i should try to set up a mock interview with one of the docs i shadowed.

i feel like once we all know where we are going to med school next year that we will chat a lot more while we wait to get started. Right now everyone is busy and nervous. Or just nervous (me).
