Welcome🙂 What is your minor secret obsession?

It is a nice thread. We try to keep it pretty drama free here...

It is hilarious how fast we get violent though when someone comes in and gets all gunner-like and snarky🙂 No one has done that in awhile though.

Edit: BW.....I googled that stuff, it looks AWESOME! I've never seen it in a store in CA though. I may need to mail order some.

I wish I was going to Disneyland to get bread today 😀... but I am just running errands. I did some cleaning yesterday, and dropped off my dry cleaning. Today I am getting ready for my interview next week, getting more passport photos, and filling out a residency form. I plan to go toss the football around at the park in a little bit. It is too nice of a day here to be inside.

GL Rhino! I'm preparing for my first interview on Monday! Starting to get really anxious...

As for my minor secret obsession, hmmm... I would have to steal Glassy's checking my email every second and watching Full House episodes pretty much every night before i go to bed 😀

Oh, and I LOVE cold pizza!! I'm glad some one finally agrees with me that it's better than hot pizza, people usually look at me weird when I say that.

Seriously, today is AMAZING. Days like this make me wonder if I can live somewhere else.

But then again, we don't often get days like this. CA is in general a little too warm for me most of the time. The end of fall, winter, and beginning of spring are the only times I really like. The rest can suck it.

Ok, I need to stop procrastinating. Only a few hours until I leave for the airport!!!


I am really scared. I really really want to go to this school. My stomach is in knots.
 
My weird obsessions:

I really hate eating meat with visible fat in it. For that reason, I won't eat bacon strips, unless I pull the clear part away from the red-brown part. I've been that way since I started eating solid foods, though.

Instead of having a habit of biting my nails, I cut off my cuticles with an Xacto knife. If no Xacto is available, I'll just use my nails.

Yeah, I think you can only buy it in Montana. I had to order it off their website. It is a little pricey, but it lasts forever!

I've decided my new mantra is "no news is good news". For now. In my head, schools have an interview pile, an "OMG can't wait to interview these people but there are so many awesome people that we have to wait until the next wave" pile, and a reject pile. Hoping for the second one.
 
The school I applied to hands out interviews for RD anytime between Oct and Feb. I have a lot of waiting to do.

Yeah. I don't have much of a choice in the matter really, and I love the school it is a good fit for me. I know I will get in, it's just a matter of being patient and persistent.

I also told myself that I will apply to Missouri and Oklahoma if I don't get in by the fourth try. :meanie: I can't move so I will have to apply to places within driving distance. 🙁

Haha oh Bleargh... don't forget that almost everyone has their panties in a twist now that interview invites and rejections are rolling in and this is all now getting real for everyone 😛

And BTW, my boyfriend (who's parents are South American) tells me about the letters he gets from schools encouraging him to apply. Apparently one ivy's letter was basically like, "We know you're Hispanic, so you might need an English speaker's help reading the bigger words in this letter" :laugh: Insulting much?
 
The days are starting to get shorter again and it makes me sad. 🙁 And tired. But it does mean that pumpkin-flavored desserts are on the way!

Yeah, it's starting to be dark when I roll into work before 6am. 🙁 Today I came in later so it was still light.

Last night I tried a pumpkin beer, and it was delicious!

Congrats, duckgirl! Which specialty? As a research assistant, it can be the best of jobs or the worst of jobs, but it is almost always interesting. 🙂
