Huh. Well, I agree that he should punished/suffer the consequences for what he has done, but.....
not so much.
^ Hyperbole. You can't possibly think I'm serious.

Started the freak dancing 90's style afaik.
+
(both to myself)
Hyperbole detector fail? I can't even blame it on anything either, lol.
They changed the way youtube works on SDN so it took out my comments; it was just nostalgia stuff--that song pretty much started freaking if I understand correctly. Also it was on some commercial and I always thought the song was catchy.Haha no worries, I do think Vick is a pretty despicable guy though.
Flow, what is up with that video?

All this vick talk you would think it was 2007.
Let's recap the punishment:
1) lost 10 year $130 million contract
2) lost $10 million/year in endorsements
3) filed bankruptcy
4) almost 2 years in prison
5) house arrest
6) had to move to philly
I would say he paid his debt to society and I will believe he changed until he shows the public otherwise... or the eagles beat my chargers.
It's not like he knifed a white woman and her lover, then got off free and clear.
That video makes me think of a new icebreaker question (since this thread seems to always be dying):
What's your song of the moment? I'm guessing Flow's is that Freak Nasty song
Mine's "Airplanes" by Local Natives. I'd post the Youtube of it but I'm not that internet-savvy.
That's just because they haven't lived in CA and don't know any better. Let's face it, outside of cream cheese, cheese steaks, and ben franklin there isn't much else to be impressed by. 2 of those can be mail ordered and benjamin is just on money now.I think some Philly natives here would dispute the fact that #6 is a punishment to be listed along with prison time...![]()

Copy the youtube link and post it as a reply. Real simple =)That video makes me think of a new icebreaker question (since this thread seems to always be dying):

agreed, and he brought it all on himself. However, losing all that money is pretty life altering and one heck of a "fine."I know all of this. I was replying to Hoody's statement. I was just saying that instead of "not deserving to live", he should be punished. If I implied that he wasn't already punished enough, my bad. 😀
Truth be told, the real punishments are 4 & 5 though.

If he wins a few games all this stuff will fall by the way side... as long as he doesn't go out picking up chicks with Tiger.True, and now he just going to have to live like the rest of us.![]()

I'm always listening to new stuff. I was listening to some bossa nova last night and diggin' it.
Enjoyed this song for a while, haven't managed to find a good upload since the good one I found was taken down

I like that, Flow.
Local Natives is my go-to indie band of the moment. My favorite dance-y song right now is this:

Dude awesome track! Yay SDN musical taste lol. I've been listening to a LOT of DI.fm, especially since I got my droid and started running it in my car all the time =)ah cool. before if you just did the link it would get all weird or just post the url. cool, that makes life more simple.
Nice Uffie track. I like the version Steve Aoiki does of the LA Riots remix of "Low Life" by Scanners with Uffie added in. That's a lot of artists in that sentence.
For the last week I've be
Ra Ra Riots representing upstate New York 😉
I forced myself to go out and be social tonight. So I played Bunco with the Desperate Housewives and then went to Karaoke and sang 311 and Lady Gaga.
I feel like a loser because I sort have wished I had come home and slept instead.

Well my mom just busted into my room, turned on the lights, and went "Tiger, it's 4:30. It's 4:30!" Ughhhh. Apparently I told her I was getting up at 4. But she did make coffee. So my mom is evil but also super nice. Can I go back to bed now??Jeez, parents can be so bad sometimes.
Being a Philly native (x10 years, in the area all my life) who HAS spent a good deal of time in CA, I feel the need to defend my beloved home city. We are obviously a lot more than cream cheese, cheese steaks, and Ben Franklin. After all, Ben Franklin is mostly the patron saint of UPenn and doesn't have much else going on in the city now than his ancient printing press. There's a ton of night life, lots of great food at all price points (though you will be disappointed with the Mexican food unless you go to South Philly), arts and culture if you bother to look for it, and, yes, all the historical touristy stuff which is at least interesting. That's just because they haven't lived in CA and don't know any better. I'm so glad you said that - I desperately need to go get nail polish remover because right now I have green nail polish that's already halfway chipped off and that just will not do for my interview next week! Also, thankfully it's payday for me so I can afford it too.I wish I had the money to buy awesome stuff right now. Saks has some great stuff right now. Too bad I'm so broke I have to wait til my next paycheck to be able to afford nail polish remover.

This is not to say I don't have a special love for CA, particularly the Bay Area (can you say Berkeley Bowl?!) but the ways of life are just different. It's also less expensive to live here than the CA metropolitan areas from what I can tell, and more economically stable. I've also never had trouble finding paid medically-related work here, with all the major hospitals/research centers in Philly.
Philly might be rough around the edges and a little dingy, but it has a big ol' heart.
You're totally entitled to your opinion, and if you don't like Philly then maybe it's not in your best interest to apply to med schools here - more spots for us! 😀
/end rant of Philly love - I'm sure I left a lot of stuff out but it is only 6am. Off to work!
I totally thought you were a guy until now. It's okay, GeekMama! I realize my handle is completely gender neutral, just like my name. Something I realized very early on in life, because as a child I apparently used to parade around going "I'm _______ and I'm a girl!" My name is commonly used as a boy's name, though I don't believe as much so now.Fo' shizzle, my nizzle. 😀

Dammit... my laptop's backspace button is jacked up.

Needless to say, I would never do that to my child based on my own life experiences with it. During HS/college, I tried to start using my middle name but totally failed. Oddly, my boyfriend successfully goes by his middle name but he has since he was born.
It's still really funny that you thought I was a guy bc I think I mentioned the boyfriend before somewhere, did you think I was gay? hehe! I think I had that same situation on SDN, but thought a guy was a girl. :O
Keyboards are a pain.
FWIW Court, I always thought you were a girl 🙂
Difficult names are tough on kids. My boyfriend has a Portuguese name that has a much more common Italian spelling/pronunciation, so pretty every time he introduces himself he has to spell it out and tell people how to pronounce it.
And what do you have? Smog, widefires, earthquakes, mudslides, and a crapton of obnoxious celebrities. Sign me up. 😛

Smog? only in LA. We have the beach, snow in the mountains for skiing and snowboarding, sprawling cities with awesome suburbs, great city life in SD/SF/LA, great universities, easy access to Mexico, awesome food, seaworld, and disneyland disneyland disneyland
Edit: Courtnes, since you probably don't know... I'm just giving you Philly folks a hard time. Thanks for the cream cheese btw, I am enjoying some right now on an everything bagel 🙂
i would add amazing weather, music, nightlife, food (if you know where to go), and preeeeeetty much everything. Although the celebrity-groupie-wannabe part I would agree on, and it sucks, its a trade-off for everything else
just thinking about it makes me want to stay put in Cali...

👍 too bad Cali schools hate me! 😡
I'm really excited to go to Philly!! But it wont be until December...
if you're used to the weather down here, you better be prepared to FREEZE! hahah
hahaha I KNOW! My mom told me I better get a good coat... I'm like, what's a coat??😛
hahah....AND MORE THAN ONE LAYER OF CLOTHING 😱
Hey now, LA has real weather... It snowed at my house once...
Speaking of weather, it's hot as heck here. My dogs won't even go outside.
