Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
you guys will be fine. at least you've got one interview in the bag. think about the poor kiddos without any interviews to this point.

I don't believe you....check around 3:58

3:58=rotate the whole box she is in along with attached camera 90 degrees at this point, and rotate it back a second later so that the right side again becomes down/gravity. That's how she slides up and down the wall. The camera still pans as she goes up and down but it is fixed to the side of the box so that it rotates exactly with the box as a whole. Also I'd seen that technique on another video, so...yeah. i cheated. so whut.

Sigh, the thread about religion gives me heartburn. Everyone just needs to relax. No one can prove their side so there will never be a victory in that argument.

In other news, I'm hungryyyy

+1, it makes me more :barf: though.

That sucks. I have a chicken carbonara frozen dinner waiting for me and I'm pretty excited about it.

ooh! is it of the Marie Callender brand?

Icebreaker question time!

What's your life motto?

Mine: fortune favors the bold. Or if you want to get fancy, "Fortes fortuna adiuvat."

"when fate gives you lemons, squeeze them back in that f***er's eyes."

P.S. thanks for triggering total recall of my latin classes :d I had tried to repress those memories

Thank you! I knew it wasn't as simple as gravity only in one direction.

Why buy one when you can buy two for twice the price.

Things happen for a reason, and there's a reason things happen the way they do.

*Collapses* What a day...

I think it went pretty well... though I think I may have come off as trying too hard. I feel like, in retrospect, that I kept trying to answer "questions" when he was just trying to make conversation. He was very nice, though, and I got him to laugh.

Anyone remember months ago that I said I had a mom friend whose dad is on the adcom at Jeff? Who wants to guess who my interviewer was? It was completely luck of the draw, too.

Yay that's awesome!!!

Why is it that interviewing makes you want to nap for 5 hours. It's crazy. It sounds like it went well, I am so happy for you!

Anything I should know before next week?

Just that don't be surprised if your interviewer seriously just wants to dialogue. I knew that would likely be the case but it still threw me off. GL, honey!

I was offered an interview on Monday for either the end of Oct or beginning of November. I needed some time to request days off of work so I could go. So when I tried to set up the date today I was told they are full and I have to interview in December or January. I've been coasting through this process lately and forgot how crazy competitive it was. Next time I'm gonna confirm the same day!

Good deal! I'm sure you rocked.

Is there much walking around? How is the parking? Will I be ok in heels all day or should I bring flats to switch into?

I actually decided just to take the regional rail. You can take it from the airport for like 5 or 6 bucks, I think... no need for a cab. So there was the walk from Market East to the campus (a few blocks), a little bit of walking during the student interview, and a bit more during the actual tour, which ends with our tour guides walking us to our interviewer's locations.

I brought flats, because I am so not used to heels and my feet are still killing me even though I wasn't even walking in the heels most of the time.

I did, before I ask pretty "girls" their name I check for an adam's apple 😀

lmaoooo. i deserve that one for not bolding the specified part....i WAS referring to the interview

Anyone have recommendations for universities that offer biochem online? I know UC Berkeley has it, but that's gotta be the most expensive option ($1300???!! wtf). Maybe a less expensive state uni or a big cc even. =) Might post a thread if I can't get any rec's on other threads lol.

I haven't really heard of many people getting interviews from those emails at UC schools, but its worth a try!....just tell them to take another look at ur amazing app and I'm sure you'll get it 🙂

im actually visiting two of the schools i applied to in october (another meet-up!?!), but not sure if i want to send an email or not

Oh, and hey, the director of admissions remembered me from when we met almost 3 years ago, and said she remembered my eyes, cuz I have "beautiful eyes". *bats eyelashes*

She also remembered everyone's personal statement topic. Woman's got a mind like a steel trap. She was awesome.

You're freaking me out, GC!

So while flying to my next interview destination, a passenger in front of me had a seizure! Man was I scared!!!!! Good thing there was a doctor on board...

Between that stupid post and watching the Top Chef finale....I decided I had not had enough dinner, and had to force myself to go to the store to get food.....you know...because one dinner was not enough.

Which was actually good, because I needed dog food too.

so did you end up going to the store twice?

i dont know if the vit B helped wake me up, but my run was phenomenal. thanks cougs 😉

Oh, hahaha, NO, do you know what happened? I did get up...and I did take a shower......

uh....then I started playing 360 😳

So I had rice and polenta in the freezer, and ate that for dinner. But then...I wanted second dinner. Really, I wanted some meat. But it made me get off my butt and go to the pet store and Costco, so that is good.
