Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I want another interview invite 🙁 I feel like since I have a low sGPA though, adcoms are currently passing me over for academic rockstars like all of you, and once you decline their schools they'll get to looking at my file and realizing how rad I am 🙂

I guess I'm really just happy that I haven't gotten many rejections at all, but limbo is a painful place to be in.

yeah i feel like we are applicant twinsies. i think our stats are nearly identical

I'm starting to accept that I just might be one of those other health care providers.

just gotta make the best of it.

Bah, chin up. You'll do just fine, its still very early. And either way, if you're still in health care, you'll be doing what your heart is in and feel is important, and that's what matters most.

I barely look at the other threads now, because other than the school specific threads, its just non-sense. I feel like SDN has become over run with cancer from /b/, that think they're cool now just because they discovered the forum and know their memes. Fools. Either that or threads are just about such trivial stuff.

There are still some good threads among the crazy ones. You know everytime I read a post that has some forum lingo in it that I have no idea about, I wonder if it's a good thing b/c it means I don't spend all my time on the internets, lol. It took me a while just to figure out what OP and troll meant :laugh: this /b/ and memes thing is over my head - gibberish!!

Also....I had the most awesome breakfast ever.

What was it? I wish I had time to make biscuits or pancakes before work. So delicious.

Some BIG college football games today. I'm so sad I'm not going to the Oregon-Stanford game. Should be amazing.

As soon as I saw this guys ugly tie I had no faith in any of his fashion tips. According to him, I should wear a navy, double breasted suit, loafers, and french cuffs 👎.

I've seen a couple of faux pas, so maybe this article is more useful than I think. A couple of little things I've seen were guys buttoning all of the buttons on their jacket (which looks especially weird with 3 button suits) and a guy not clipping his tie bar to his shirt (so it flapped around while he walked).

The bigger faux pas I've seen were a girl wearing hiking boots and a backpack (no suit either), a guy dressed like he was going sailing and wearing a very scuffed/dirty pair of shoes, and then a guy whose back was covered in dandruff like he rolled around in it before coming to the interview.

However, most people were dressed pretty sharp!

Duckie, I went to this place called The Mission (rhino probably knows it) and they have a roast beef hash. So it is pieces of roast beef, eggs (egg whites for me) and rosemary potatoes, served with rosemary bread. Then I got a little crazy and also got a piece of chocolate poundcake.

I keep getting fatter and fatter....I hate being in limbo.

Rhino.....I'm sorry...WHAT!????? HIKING BOOTS??? WTF? Ok, if she wasn't wearing a suit, what WAS she wearing?

So far all I've seen are girls being TOO conservative with super boring grandma-like pants suits and flat ugly shoes (like....with tassles and stuff). But hey, I guess that is how Ivy-leaguers dress😉 I hear there are a lot of stripper-like shoes and short skirts out there but I haven't seen any of that yet.

funniest thing i've seen is a girl wearing poofy white skirt that somehow came back around to end about halfway down her thigh... so it was like an onion skirt.. but short.. hilarious

I've seen 2 guys with the vents of their suits still sewn shut with bright white thread. I'm sad that I missed the onion-skirt, tho
:laugh::laugh:

Right before one of my interviews I realized I had forgotten to cut open the vent on my skirt. I had to do it with my teeth😀 Actually, Sun, I did it like 4 minutes before I met you😉

I have heard the mission is awesome for breakfast, but I haven't eaten there... yet 🙂. Another good SD place for breakfast is Kona's (at the end of Garnet next to crystal pier).

This girl was dressed like she was going hiking... boots, kaki pants, no make-up, hair a mess... nobody knew she was interviewing at first... I felt bad for her.

I'm picturing something that is half tutu and half towel :laugh:

... onion? :laugh:

Oh dear. Ohhhhhh dear. I just.....oh dear.

I feel sad for her too, but how do you NOT know that you need to wear a suit? Did she look surprised at all of you?

not as surprised as we looked when she introduced herself and we realized she was interviewing.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Bleargh, your pictures are the best! Although, from that angle she just looks like she has a big ol' azz!

Wash U interview invite. Close to running out of money to fly around. Argh.

Better not decline. :meanie: CONGRATS! :highfive:

I'm guilty of this faux pas...haha...except mine was with dark thread 😛

Anyhoo, my Chicago "vacation" is turning out to be so-so...it started to rain as I was making my way to my hotel by foot from the L stop...and then I got booked into a room in which someone was staying....the only highlight was getting a free upgrade from the cute boy at the reservation desk....except this suite has like...lukewarm water and almost no pressure...so the maintenance guy is currently fixing it as I type...Hopefully he fixes it!

I think you mischaracterize the article. Double breasted suits are acceptable and can generally look good with french cuffs, they are simply not as in fashion right now. Slip on shoes is whatever, id say its the most commonly broken rule because so many businessmen wear them.

oh my bad, I thought with your 16 in verbal you would recognize that I was making an exaggeration bordering on hyperbole to make a point. My point was that double breasted suits, french cuffs, and loafers look like crap. Additionally, trying to stand out at an interview can make you look like a straw haired, flat butt white girl in an onion skirt :meanie:
