LOL, I was! I took the MCAT in January and got soooo much help from people on SDN. I think sunny interview day + awesome host + huge group of friendly interviewees + happy M1s made a strong impression of MCW on me. Schools where I interviewed on gloomy/rainy days I can't get excited about no matter how great the reputation, I'm so weird in that way.

Except lately I've been having this fear of failing in medical school 🙁

work sucks. i want an 8 month vacation before med school starts.
 
yeah, i think i'm going to be on a similar time line. a big trip or two, lots of bball, etc.

NO! Enjoy the victories....don't dwell on the next big step. PLUS, now that you are going to med school, it won't be that easy to fail. You got this. 😎

I think Im gonna go to Europe to visit family with some of my friends. Not having to pay for hotels and food= awesomeness...
 
Story time:

I knew my Downstate decision letter was in my mailbox at my apartment. My grandparents, who live there with me, were gone for the weekend. So I took a cab (I HATE spending $$ on cabs) to my apartment last night so I could open that effing letter. Then I got there and not only did they change the mailbox so there were new keys, but the doormen LOST the spare and my grandfather is the only keyholder. So I went home, watched 3 episodes of Fringe, and drank until 4:30am.

Woke up at 2pm to a phone call from my grandmother telling me I got in. Currently celebrating with ice cream and studying for a developmental biology midterm. Life could be worse.

I'm supposed to hear from the school I interviewed at this week, and I'm getting nervousssssss.

Will also be hearing from the school I interviewed at this week (!!!), and got a rejection last Friday. I was totally expecting that one though, which helped.

It's so quiet here today. Does everyone have a case of the Mondays?

Yes on the case of the Mondays... I'm all alone in my lab because everyone else is sick, so I'm just hanging out, waiting for reactions to run.

I'm waiting for my patient to be off bypass so I can go be a vampire again (get blood, of course.) I couldn't believe one of the attendings called me that, even if he was joking around!

Sometimes time alone at work is nice, can be productive and full of good music. Occasionally I go in early just to be able to work like that. =)

🙁 sorry about the rejection, Daisy. I got one too last week and it's really starting getting to me now Been feelin' like CRAP ever since
 
so my school faculty might be going on strike... we find out the results of the negotiations on nov 3rd at midnight. My profs seem to think its likely to happen (one of them even cleared her stuff from her office already). I wouldnt mind having no school for a week or two but... i feel like these things usually take months. If my graduation is delayed past april would med schools be kool with that??

anyone been through something like this at their school???

Nothings says cute like animals stuffed in uncomfortable costumes! I love HP kitty and the taco-huahua.

Now, I know I haven't been here a long time but this is certainly the quietest I've ever seen this thread. Is everyone away interviewing or something?

if you're having trouble balancing mass transport/unit operations with interviewing, i think you should probably give me your harvard interview.. just a friendly suggestion ya know 😀

November is my 2-interviews-a-week month, though.
