Texas, I would say, is a really diverse place that has something to offer just about any type of personality. You've got cities in the eastern part of the state (and all of the typical things that cities come with, both good and bad), and vast expanses of nothingness in the western part... Haha. I also think that many Texan men would claim that *everything* is bigger in Texas, possibly leading to disappointed lady tourists the next morning. :laugh:

I will say, though, that I love Texas. I wasn't born there, but it is my state of official residence and I do hope to stay there for a long, long time after I'm done with college... Haha.

Same as me. It's a true statement. Plus I like to think that since I haven't heard from the majority of schools I applied to but haven't been rejected, my application hasn't been tossed in a recycling bin already and I still have a shot at an interview invite. Who knows. Wishful thinking.

In the PNW right now its gorgeous and 70 degrees. I shouldn't even be inside right now. Amazing! 🙂

Ducky, not to be a total creeper or anything, but your comments are always so delightful and positive. I hope you get, not only multiple interviews, but multiple acceptances as well. I don't see why anyone wouldn't accept you...🙂

my husband plays it and I am addicted to watching him play. 😀 I will probably get into it after I graduate in Dec. I have a list of games I will be playing.

I wish there were Halloween left overs here 🙁

Instead, we didn't have enough to give out. So I felt like a Soviet rationing out the candy to children - "one potato for you, comrade". Felt bad when I had two Reese's left and about 5 kids were walking up, so I was like sorry.. the smallest ones get the two, so the little munchkins were happy but the tweeners were definitely upset haha.

Awww, that's so nice 🙂 And actually a little surprising, because I feel like I've been a little Debbie Downer about everything haha.

I feel like even though we are a group of "random strangers" I really hope some of us end up at the same place. That would be so awesome. 👍

My hotel is like The Shining. No one answered the phone for a half hour and finally I had to go down personally to get room service. And they STILL are charging me a room service fee.


So far......not a fan of this place. There had better be chocolate rivers and lollipop flowers at this school tomorrow like everyone says there is.

I'm not an expert or anything, and the two classes I took on addiction were both over a year ago. However, it is something that interests me, and one of my profs is a leading researcher in the field. I also volunteer at a residential drug and alcohol rehab, but I have yet to see someone there solely for ecstacy.

AARGH so a while ago I posted that I had an annoying series of communications with a school that I really liked and think I would be a good fit at. I sort of sketchily found out that that school should have notified me one way or another by now... meaning they likely lost my app. My sketchy source said that they would never ever admit to losing things though so I'm just SOL.

The source is actually not sketchy, it's just hard to explain.
 
I just got around to reading the classical Hippocratic oath. Apparently, charging a fee for medical education is against the rules, as is boinking your male or female patients and performing abortions.

seriously.


a group used a fictional character in an ad to attack a guy's rep in order to convince voters to not vote for him. a fictional character.

ps the guy they were comparing to gekko won.

I love our mascot 😍 Partially because of this, partially from when he kind of beat up the Houston mascot at a game then got suspended for it, and partially because Disney is pissed we still have rights to Donald after all these years.

(the study used a dosage 15x greater than that of a standard MDMA dose and injected it straight into the blood stream) I know people who have done a lot of varying drugs and there's definitely something "different" about them at baseline (different as in odd, not as in mentally handicapped). Still not convinced that MDMA has harmful long term effects tho. The govt/fda can ban something and then fund research to show that it's bad... not exactly unbiased research.

  1. I am SERIOUSLY impressed with the mascot guy pulling off those moves in that outfit, especially the fancy footwork with those duck feet and the breakdancing stuff.
  2. That cheerleader kinda looks like my sister, IMO, who is also a cheerleader and is friends with (one of) the guy(s) that plays Hooter at Temple football games.
