I'm actually not that impressive via SDN standards. Just applied very well based on my gpa/mcat and my interests. I have a slightly lower than 3.6cGPA and a slightly lower 3.5sGPA. I re-took the MCAT 3x to get a 32. I do have an interesting research topic (on a gross invert) and I have successful waged war against an insect living in my household. I also was a club president of a non-premed group (woot woot social justice). But those where in my secondaries, and one school just liked me based on my primary. woah.

I wish. It was made more complex because i live in a rather large household.

also -- can people keep me out of URM threads please. I'm not too good at expressing my words and it makes me frustrated with whiny premeds. And yes, I am a white girl that is afraid of white people.

and I feel bad for a lot of hispanic and black medical students who's peers most think they only got accepted because they are a URM. I would literally walk around with my MCAT score and transcript 24/7, like it was my papers to verify that I am allowed there.

Oh man....I love Dave Chapelle.


This is giving me flashbacks of my ex. He introduced me to Dave and we would watch his standup and Chapelle's show over and over. So good...never stops being funny.

Yeah, he's a funny dude and great show. Sorry to give you flashbacks of your ex though haha, unless they're good memories.

I was trying to find the video from 30 Rock when Tracy Jordan in season 1 o 2 has a flashback to doing standup and is like "White people dial their phone like this: beep-beep-boop-beep. Black people dial their phone like this: boop-da-boop-de-bleep-bop." and then he does it again in the scene but his "white person" voice and then he yells out something like, "oh no! I am white!" lolol. I think its the episode when Jack is trying to convince him he's an Irish Catholic or something lol. Its no where to be found on youtube though.

i just watched pelham 123 the other day. its entertaining, not superb.
 
I don't know if I am in a Rocky Horror mood.

I think I either want a rom-com or an action movie. Maybe I should watch 2012 again.

its in my top ten of all time, but i'm a huge hoop head. ray allen does a decent job as an actor, considering hes actually a basketball player.
 
I am more of a football movie person myself. I don't know why....I am pretty whatever about sports, but I LOVE football movies.

I really liked him in Fallen, but that's kinda right up my ally. I also watched Sandlot and Neverending Story recently. I've been on a reliving my childhood kick.

If you like football and Denzel, then how about Remember the Titans.

I also think that the movie The Express is a football movie on par with the blindside. Also, Any Given Sunday is a great football movie too.

I looooooooove Remember the Titans. I watch it when I'm having a hard time. Also.....Rudy is CLASSIC. I was actually going to watch it today since it is on Watch Instantly....I haven't seen it in a few years.

Also...a guilty pleasure....Wildcats. I love Goldie Hawn

I watched the prince of persia last night, it was pretty good. The princess was a hottie! 🙂
 
another great bball movie is finding forrester, though its not focused on bball. the 6th man was entertaining too. i'm sure i'm forgetting a couple... blue chips, basketball diaries...
 
Finding Forrester is good.


For football...I also like The Replacements.

And Jerry Maguire.....but that's because I'm a chick.

I haven't seen finding forrester, but I'm going to check it out.

Blue chips was funny, because Shaq is funny in real life, but an awful actor.

Basketball diaries... if that is the one with leonardo dicaprio then 👎, if it is the one about Sebastian Telfair (edit: just looked it up and this one is called: Through the Fire) 👍.


Oh and Cougs, I like Jerry McGuire too.

Cougs, in the spirit of amusing everyone. I'll admit to you that the most embarassing movie I like is Serendipity (I hope geeks has seen this considering her crush is on it).

I haven't seen it in a long time and the only thing I remember from it is the part where he prostitutes himself. Maybe I just need to see it again to appreciate it.

I made my BFF watch When Harry Met Sally (how he got this old without seeing it is beyond me) and he LOVED it.

Then it makes them ask what a soup question is. By the time I've explained...they've forgotten all about the overly probing and completely inappropriate question that they originally asked me 😉
 
finding forrester and remember the titans are both amazing movies.. on a random movie tangent, i was convinced to watch toy story 3 against my will and ended up finding it one of the best movies i've ever seen
 
i want to see toy story 3. i wish i wouldve gotten to see it in theater.
