Man, I am still flying high from my acceptance. It's going to make the next 7 months at work freakin' painful, too. Speaking of which, when is everyone planning on quitting their job?

Also, my nails have totally gone to shiz. They're all chipping and ripping. Dammit. I should start taking prenatals again.
 
i'm hoping to work through may. travel in june, move in july. crush things august- june of 2013.

Its alright, with how Miguel has behaved in the past few episodes I was already starting to think that Dexter will need to "take care of him."
 
Pretty sure I just finished episode 9 where Dexter finds the attorney's ring in Miguel's house.
 
Okay, yeah. Then you know already he's broken the Code.

Season 4 is hella creepy, man. Trinity is scary scary scary.

3 months ahead of med school start date, or mid-May; whichever comes first.
 
Oh man, I'm jealous. I don't think we'd be able to swing me leaving before some time in June, at the VERY earliest.

This is part of the reason why I was hoping to get pregnant and be due before medical school. Have baby in the spring and never go back to work. Just enroll baby in daycare and go to medical school. Ah well, so much for that.

I think I'm going to have to stick it out to the bitter end too. I can't see leaving my job before the end of June, if not mid-July.

No way are le BF and I getting preggo before med school. Eeek. Med school will be hard enough without a newborn!

It's cool man, you don't have to apologize. Best laid plans and all that. It's worrysome but we're just going to keep at it and figure it out when it happens. Hubster should be working from home full time by the time I'm in school, and he's even more confident that we'll work it out than I am.

Truthfully, I think newborns are pretty easy, nighttime feedings and the chance of colic or reflux aside. They don't really do that much beyond eat, poop and sleep, and they're so light. I would put on my Boppy pillow and let her eat while I played a video game, or read, or watched TV or goofed off on the computer. Easy peasy.

Older infants and toddlers, on the other hand, are friggin' maniacs. 30 pounds of fearless craziness. Chicklet is trying to climb on EVERYTHING right now, and she's a really good kid when her hellspawn attitude isn't coming out.
 
I'm leaving the job in May - gives me time to go to Europe 😀.

I really wish I could fast forward to then. With huge trips planned in the summer and med school starting in Sept/Aug I really can't wait for the calendar to get there. Is there a way to hibernate for the winter like a bear?

Haha! You do make some excellent points. I love kids, but we're just not ready for the babies. I must be doing enough babysitting of toddlers and elementary schoolers to keep the maternal impulses at bay.

Wow, I went on turkey day vacation, missed 2 pages and totally never saw this! CONGRATS! :highfive::clap::claps::banana:

I am trying VERY hard to finish out the school year before quitting. For the moment it's enough that my school has no backup chem teacher to pick up AP chem for my students. After May 2nd it's going to enter a whole new realm of pain to stay there. 😉

Sometimes I think how nice it would be to quit my job, but then I remember that it's the most laid-back job I've ever had, and I'd like more pubs because the research is relevant to the kind of medicine I want to practice.

Plus I want to make sure I can get through MS1 without taking out loans so every dollar counts.😎
 
I think I'm gonna work up until May or maybe June, then have a nice relaxing summer.

And all you all are getting me interested in Dexter.. I've never watched it before but perhaps I'll check it out.

Edit: why on earth would I write "y'all"??? My Texas friends seem to be rubbing off on me

Geek, if it makes you feel better, I'll most likely be working till about a week before med school starts. I don't mind it too much though since I enjoy the research. But it sure would've been nice to get a summer break before med school since my last real summer break was before freshman year of college.

Today was weird. Went to skating class....and there was no skating class. Instead, the paramedics were called because a woman in my class fell and split her head open and bled all over the ice. The first words out of her mouth were "my legs are numb".

She hit her butt before her head, so her spinal cord got a little jolt. She is ok now. All moving parts are still moving. Big bump on the head and a lot of blood.

My skating teacher said she was so glad I was there and that I was so calm and authoritative when dealing with her.

Damn do I want to do trauma. I should have been a helicopter medic.

I am sad. I just found out the 6th element car I am in love with (from the car thread) was ok'd for production...7-10 units, at 2.5 million euros a piece. I think that's a bit out of my reach. 0-60 in 2.5 seconds shall never be mine... :cry:

I just caved and bought snow boots. It is snowing in the place I'm going tomorrow. Also, I am hoping for good news from another snowy school next week

Those first ones are cute but those second ones are ADORABLE! Why couldn't you justify them? What was the damage? I need snowboots desperately. I honestly don't think I have any and that was a problem last winter.

The hubster wears, like, 15 1/5 size shoes. He can fit into 13s and 14s depending on the brand, but not usually. Finding shoes for him is an enormous PITA.

Okay, so Dexter. Dexter, Dexter, Dexter! Watched the end of Season 3 - and holy crap it ended well. I think they could have done better with the final confrontation between Miguel and Dexter - there were so many emotions to play off of that I wasn't sure they nailed, but all in all a great season. Can't wait to start season 4!

Season 4 is even more intense! I liked S3 a lot though. Much better than crazy ***** in S2. 🙂

I honestly thought the show was going to tank this season [5], it took awhile to get going but totally proved me wrong.

Dang, the hubster certainly does wear big shoes! My bf wears like a 12.5 or 13 and even those sizes can be kinda tough to find in all styles. I'm not going to make the joke about guys and their shoe size, because I figure someone else will.

Good taste, Cougs. Those duck boots look cool, and usually I'm not into duck. First pair got a sporty/punky vibe to me cause of the pattern. 👍
