Interview tomorrow and I still kinda wish I had cancelled. I'm definitely ducking out of the optional Q&A session at the end of the day.

Yeah, the Q&A isn't important. In fact even if you try to duck it you may miss it. When I got back from my off-site interview it was about 30min before the Q&A, and right when I got back my student interviewer was waiting for me so went off and did that. By the time I was back from that and lunch it was about four of us looking around like, what do we do now? Since everyone was gone and the Q&A was obviously over.

Yeah, I kinda forget what the website said the itinerary was for the day, but I can't get to my personal email from my work computer and I don't feel like screwing with my phone's email settings to get stuff from a few months ago on it. I'll check it when I get home tonight.

Hey, Daisy, I'm an interesting guy and would like to keep some veil of mystery. How can I possibly talk about myself in 1000 characters? I can't let them know everything nor speak of much in that limit. And though I may enjoy yapping a lot and tooting my horn, maybe just maybe I don't feel comfortable talking about myself. 😎





(and I overthink things so "tell me about yourself" can be a pretty deep question... its not like "why our school?" or "tell us about ____ situation" ....😳)

Anyone doing anything fun this weekend? I'm mainly just praying that my football team can get it together enough to beat our cross-town rivals :meanie:

It's my birthday tomorrow and I just got a package from home that contains an XBox 360. Sooooo yea...

Also, I'll be going to the Heme/Onc department's holiday party tomorrow night, which should be fun. Can't say no to free food and booze! 😀

Other than that, I'm just glad it's the weekend and I can sleep in till 2.

I should offer my services for that. 20 bucks for every 500 characters sounds fair.

Watching one of the most important college games in my lifetime (well, so far). After Gameday of course. And then however that goes, buying ridiculously expensive bowl tickets :xf: totally worth it

The pac 10 is crazy this year. It might end up that only 3 schools go to bowl games, which is sad. There's so much talent but since they all play each other some of the records aren't too pretty. And I love college basketball but my team won't be...so good this year. (I think this is where I say it's a building year).

Delta just jacked me AGAIN. My flight was delayed by 4 hours. When? 3 hours before the flight is scheduled to take off. WTF. The reason? "CrewMember rest". What, so that means either the flight attendant or pilot was too hammered to get up for work?

Instead of getting home before noon, this plus a new longer hour layover gets me home at 8

Their solution? Give me. $75 voucher. Doesn't help when I'm NEVER FLYING YOUR DAMN AIRLINE AGAIN.

Wow Delta sucks! I think you should b*tch and moan until they raise the amount of your voucher. I mean, if you're going to get one it should at least cover most of a flight.
 
Stupid macs. Why is there no built in way to draw pictures like MS Paint? I want to make my darn holiday avatar!!!

Hope all is well everyone! It's the ol' gfs birthday today. Having lunch with her strict asian parents 😱 then surprising her with her present. Question, ladies. Would you prefer a "tangible" present that you have to open, or something like an hour long massage + a facial? I already bought her the massage, I just want to see how badly I screwed up :d.

In other news, is anyone still excited by this application process? I'm about sick of it. So tired of waiting, of mercilessly checking my email every day. Just wish it could all be over and time to start med school!!!

Ooo and my stationary bike just got here the other day. So excited!! I bought it because I hate going outside to run when its cold. Now I can actually work out AND watch TV at the same time, which is practically a dream.

yea i dont get why they dont have something like that...its so crucial.
and as far as this application process goes.. i absolutely hate the waiting. i thought this was going to be the easiest part cuz i literally dont have to do anything, but man its for sure the hardest. really hoping to hear some good news before the break:xf:

The only thing I hate about winter is that it ruins my running. I usually run through a big park, and I just can't stand doing it on a treadmill or a tiny indoor track.
 
You know that drawing where if you look at it right-side-up it depicts a beautiful young girl, but if you look at it upside-down it looks like an old crone with a misshapen chin? Was reading internet news today and it just hit me that one of them is a spitting image of Helen Thomas

I live in Albany and Albany med is alright. The area sucks though, its right near one of the most violent areas of Albany&#8230;..I guess its fitting they would decide to have a hospital there. Where did you get in if you don't mind me asking?

Does your bike have a name? I named my BFF's bike...Benjamin. Anything expensive should have a name.
I vow that when I move for med school, I am buying an awesome elliptical. Especially since it looks like I will be living somewhere with snoooowwww.

A lot of us know each other IRL. And if we haven't met, we either talk on the phone, PM, or chat each other a lot. Even just through this thread we know each other pretty damn well🙂 It is nice to have support....friends, family, and SOs get sick of application talk and stress.

Really? I'm still in the process of deciding...I got into UIC (I'm instate so the tuition turns out to be decent...). My biggest worry is about graduating with a lot of debt. So, since I got accepted to my state medical school, I've been much more critical about money.

Kaushik -- Unless you are set on UIC or I am missing something, I would consider going to the interview in Albany if you are only considering UIC for cheaper tuition. Albany looks like it is $42000 per year. UIC is $32000 (+ about one thousand in fees) BUT there is two summers you will be paying an additional $10000+ for clinical rotations over the summer... so really, you would only be paying an additional $20,000 at Albany than UIC.. and Albany potentially might be a better fit for you.

I've basically been using this argument with my parents about why UIC isn't my first choice -- even if at first glance it looks cheaper.
