I don't think any of the regulars in this thread are attending Touro-NV. Good luck there. And I hope you find that your classmates have a better sense of humor than we do.

Lol tucom is not the only place I was accepted it was in fact my first acceptance but not my last. And I have yet to complete interview cycle.

I will have to refrain from ripping on Touro NV because I'm sure they have some great students and graduated physicians. But cbrons proves they do make some admissions blunders.

I thought your first choice was CCOM? Were you not accepted? I already withdrew from there [was waitlisted though -- for some reason I fail at most of my DO school interviews...]. CCOM gave me the hebejebes though.

I thought your first choice was CCOM? Were you not accepted? I already withdrew from there [was waitlisted though -- for some reason I fail at most of my DO school interviews...]. CCOM gave me the hebejebes though.

It's in a well-to-do suburb (mansions surround the school). The school itself is a gated-community [have to talk to the security guard to get in] and on top of that, all buildings are locked --have to use a key card to get in. They even had to come to the door to let interviewers in. It was too much security in a uber safe neighborhood for me... what are they so scared of? But honestly, I think I like urban schools much more. My parents are even giving me a hard time for liking MCW because it's pretty much in a suburb. Suburbs are scary. haha. That is what gave me the hebejebes

Haha. Ok. I can completely understand that. I guess I luckily found an open door? It was definitely a lot of security for a suburban campus, I'll agree. I'd much prefer an urban area but out of my choices so far it looks like I'll be in the 'burbs. The key card thing is annoying - I'm notorious for forgetting my keys.

I'm deciding where to put a deposit down this week if I don't hear back from NYCOM, or if its not good news from them, and it most likely is CCOM at this point. I was just curious to see if you came across a glaring red flag academically when you were there or if it were a personal thing.

Nah, there was no red flags regarding the academics of the place -- and it's clinical rotations are at alot of great Chicago locations. I just was unnerved by the campus [that and I don't believe they record any of their lectures]. It is a very good school though. 🙂

Just got an invite to Cornell! So happy! Definitely one of my top choice schools!

Awesome! Congrats. Its a great place. I used to work an ER at one of their sites and many of my shadowing experiences took place there. Excellent environment. Hope you enjoy it.

my school just updated their website and we dont have school tomorrow either which is the last day of classes, so looks like im all done for the semester lolll.

the ****ty part is i am almost all out of food and theres no way i can get to a grocery storee =( i had canned peas and canned peaches for breakfast LOL faaaaaak

Also, I got an acceptance to my top choice OOS school the other day, so I get to cancel my trip to a certain city on the east coast in early january (I just gotta pay a $150 cancellation fee to my airline) *poo*

After working so hard, canceling interviews feels kind of weird. But the money you save will be worth it.

Good luck on your final, I have my last final of undergrad tomorrow at 11 am. My last final is for a class called "circadian rhythms and biological clocks." It is really hard to study and stay focused, major senioritis. The only thing motivating me is my fear of losing my acceptance!
