This reminds me of that 30 Rock episode where Jack is dating CC and she tells him about the dog shooting her in the face. Lifetime made a movie out of it called "A dog took my face, and gave me a better one, to change the world! The Celeste Cunningham story."

Jacks response "I thought you made love like an ugly woman."

Alright guys... Chicklet has become recently obsessed with Toy Story, which is amazing because she's only seen the third one, 6 months ago in the theatre. That said, she knows the main character's name. And she's very verbal, which leads to this...

Chicklet: I watch Woody, please?
Hubster: We don't have that, sweetie.
Chicklet: I get the Woody? Daddy get the Woody? Daddy get Woody!
Me, in the bathroom:

Later, she sees a Toy Story toy.
Chicklet: I see the Woody! That's Chicklet's Woody! GIVE ME WOODY!!!

Guys... THAT WAS IN THE CEREAL AISLE OF THE GROCERY STORE!!!!

2011 is the year I enter my mid-20s. Don't know if I'm ready for that.

Luckily I still look like I'm 16.

Edit: Haha Geeks, I just saw your Facebook post about that... too funny. Kids say the darndest things.

Is 28 still mid 20s or late 20s? I think I just entered my late 20s...whippersnapper!

Edit: It seems I've been in my late 20s for a year already. False alarm.

Haha I think the categories are as follows:
20-23: early 20s
24-26: mid 20s
27-30: late 20s

I feel like 27 sorta should be in the mid-20s category, but then the distribution wouldn't be even :meanie:

I just wanna be young forever 🙁

Haha...the last sentence makes me think of the song "Forever Young"...I wanna be forever young...Do you really want to live forever? Forever and ever...

Anyway, I went out with Cougs for lunch today...it was delicious and she was so awesome..she even brought me a Xmas gift bag full of delicious Cougs-cooked food. DELICIOUS! 👍

Geeks....my brother, when he was young, was a terror. My mom took him to the grocery store and he kept having tantrums about stuff he wanted that she would say no to. Finally, he gave her this determined look, and then looked over at the first guy he saw and said REALLY loudly:

ARE YOU MY DADDY?


My mom left the full cart, grabbed him, and left the store. 😉

Ok, I am confused. I thought Mbeas and mauberley were both girls. Now I am not so sure. Please educate me. Also, mauberley, are you old like me? 😀


Lunch with Trio was awesome. Though, be warned....he is straight up from the ghetto. A car backfired and he crouched in like a crazy karate pose, ready for action thinking it was a gunshot. I could not stop laughing🙂

Ya got me, 30 probably can't get away with being in the "20s" category. But 40 is the new 30... right? So that means 30 is the new 20?

Sure, why not. :laugh: But the more I think about it, the more I think that 30's gonna be awesome. So (for me, anyway), I'm looking forward to it. I pretty easily pass for an undergrad, though, so I'm going to milk that for all it's worth while I can.

On a completely unrelated topic, "The King's Speech"==good movie.

Hey, for the record, I did NOT crouch into a crazy karate pose...just maybe a half-karate pose. 😛

and besides..I gotta prepare myself to react to gunshots..they're a natural part of the cityscape where my potential schools are...except in Montreal, where Francophones yell at Anglophones and refuse to help them.

I turn 30 about 2 months before starting 3rd yr rotations (they start march of 2nd yr at my school). I am really looking forward to rotations so I doubt I'll have time to be depressed over it. 🙂
 
Wooo New Year's Eve! What are everyone's plans for the evening?

I'll be having dinner at my bf's family's house, then going to a party at our friend's apartment. I love love love champagne, so this is one of my favorite holidays 😀
 
I had this really amazing New Year's in London about 12 years ago...and you know what...every New Year's has been a disappointment since then.

Jealous of both of you! I'm having a low-key NYE with the bf and a couple of friends, but at least I have an awesome dress that I got when my sister worked for a big fashion house. I feel like my expectations for NYE are always far too high anyway.

Ugh, I WISH my NYE was low key this year. I'm about Holidayed out and don't really feel like going to a huge party tonight, but my cousin sucked me in to going to his place. Cool thing though is that its a black tie martini party, so I think even with my grinchy attitude I'll end up having some fun :laugh:.

Oh 2010, what a weird year you were.
 
Not entirely sure what I'm doing tonight. The default option is my buddy's house party. I may go downtown, but lots of the good clubs are charging $50 cover tonight, which is absolutely ridiculous (even considering the ones that have free drinks all night w/ cover). Some bars have free cover, so maybe that. Depends who wants to go out.

man if i were you i would take the 50 cover + free drinks all night, thats an amazing deal for new years if u ask me.

Meh... not as good a deal as it sounds. That will only get you well drinks which I would avoid unless you want a mega hangover the next day. I'll take free cover over that any day then spend the difference on a handful of quality drinks, but then again I'm prone to day-after-drinking migraines. Just my 0.02.

Cliff, sorry for the delay but I've literally been stuck on Mount Werner/Holsen Hill. The snow has been utterly epic 😎. I've been making up for last years suckiness.

I've been keeping up with the 2014 thread as well (doesn't move quite as fast these days 😛)....and this is just MY opinion but I think MD/PhD would be perfect for you. Simply put, you are someone who is gonna need other outlets and activity after school/training is complete. I'd say go for it. 👍

i'm about to go pregame at my friends house and then we're gonna head downtown and see where the night takes us. my past 2 new year's have been pretty epic, but i'm not expecting much this year simply based on location. oh well, party on!
