Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Thanks again guys 🙂

I feel like HMS opens up more nontraditional career options, while Emory would be great for what I currently, conservatively want to do (Emerg Med). I think it'll come down to $$.

Funny thing... I was convinced I wouldn't get off of any waitlists, so I've just bought a car for Emory... lol. It's gonna be my dad's new car if I don't go, so it's not like I'm wasting it haha.

I guess it depends on your career aspirations if the debt ends up being higher there. But the name may be worth the extra $ if you want a competitive specialty.

Name --- marketability.

Good job though. Big win.

Say "prestige." You know you want to. 😉

Boston's quite the pricey area, so yeah, the $$$ is gonna be a big factor. Good luck with your decision!

Congrats, Flow! That's amazing.

Yay, GC! I'm so glad geeklet2 cooperated this time.

My only news is that I got approved for the rest of my loans. Ouch.

On top of my last post, it was

bottom. 😡

When I hear "prestige" I think of Call of Duty before I think of med schools. Bad sign? Good sign?

Is it wrong that I've been wanting to get that for Chicklet?

Speaking of my offspring, who feels like giving me their $0.02? Which one do you guys like better? They are the same price and made by the same company. It's a purely cosmetic difference.

The second one would be a lot less offensive to my tastes if only the sides weren't all wavy. But if you are planning to put the bed anywhere except with the long side against a wall, then the second one is a better choice.

The fact that anyone disagrees with me has instantly made it VERY IMPORTANT to me that my side wins this argument. I've completely lost sight of the fact that this is just a bed for a cute kid that I don't even know. I should be going into politics instead of medicine.

I got this one for key lime and have been really happy....FWIW. 🙂

I appreciate referrals from e-friends! 😀 How've you been, Lime?

The second one was my original favorite. Then I found out the other one has a great sale at Walmart where you can get the crib, AND a mattress, for less than just the crib at Babies R Us. It grew on me after that. Then I found out the second one has that same deal, and now I don't know! I think the second one may be a little too girly and we don't know what we're having.

My mom just handed me her old copy of House of God from when she was in med school and asked me if I had ever heard of it. I guess it's officially a classic!

We got it at babies r us, but that walmart deal sounds sweet. We have a boy and it has worked out well, but I think I was looking at your second choice too. We need to buy the toddler half rail for the front.

I have been good, thanks. I have tried to keep up reading even though i have been a lame poster. I am having a second shoulder surgery next Tuesday, so I have been trying to get ready for that and moving too. Good luck deciding!

*snip*
I was thinking the exact same thing. The choice depends entirely on where the crib is placed in the room.

I watch way to much hgtv for a dude 😳

I guess I need to read more.

I have never heard of this House of God. I assumed it was a new book - and didn't even realize it was about medicine. haha.

😛

Excellent. It's clearly the better option, as it has more planes of symmetry.

Dude, that's exactly what I was thinking! I'm all about the symmetry.

I'll have to ask my dad if he has it; I didn't know it was such an old book! (I mean, not that our parents are sooooo old... you know what I mean.)

That is pretty awesome. I kinda just want to play with that. Like right now.

Edit: Wait what Maubs? A journal about sandwich structures that's not about food? Does not follow.

Edit #2: Well congrats Cougs, you smarty pants. I'm sure that makes your decision tough though...

Seen on my Facebook news feed with the description "funniest journal name seen today": Journal of Sandwich Structures and Materials. Sadly, not about the food.
Website fail=spending five minutes on a site and still having no freaking clue what it is about. Or is that website awesomeness....

Yeah
Congrats Cougs!!!! Now I'm sad cause I don't get why it's a tough decision.

they are now financially equal. So I now choose between....what's the word...."prestige"(I now visualize you guys going nuts like on Pee-Wee's playhouse when they would say the secret word whenever 'prestige' is said) over my gut and what feels right.

I choose the latter.

Anybody been on a Caribbean honeymoon? I'm trying to plan mine and am too indecisive to narrow it down. My top choices are Punta Cana (Dominican), St. Lucia, Grand Caymans, and Bahamas.

Punta Cana is the better deal though. You can get just a place just as nice for much cheaper. Plus, I just had a buddy return with his wife from there and he said it was great.

Any thoughts?

We went to Cancun for our HM but Punta was on our short list. I still would loooooooove to go there and plan to eventually. You'll get a lot more bang for your buck at Punta Cana (the Bahamas aren't bad either, price-wise) then than St. Lucia or Grand Cayman as beautiful as they are. Hell, they're all beautiful, you won't be disappointed wherever you go. 😀

What about a Caribbean cruise that takes you to multiple islands? That's my dream for next summer between M-1 and M-2.

that would be amazing....though it would need to be like a 10-12 day cruise at least!!

Most of the Caribbean ones I've seen are about 7-9 days. 🙂

Ursa, there are even some that leave from Galveston. You could save money on airfare that way, if that matters to you. You would spend more days at sea, though.

I've only been to St Lucia and the Bahamas.

I think...once you go tropical, and it is a honeymoon....it doesn't matter which you choose🙂 You guys will have a blast because you're together, wearing little clothing, and rum is cheaper than water.
