i started my EM rotation last night with 10 stitches to my lip. pretty sure i honored it.
Man, sounds hardcore! glad you're okay though! 🙂
Well, except for the fact that I was sick the entire week - I literally got sick the night before our flight and started feeling way better the day we left - it was awesome. I loaded up on DayQuil/NyQuil and tried to be a trooper with the girl and my parents. Fortunately the casino gods rewarded me for my illness... I won about $900 over the course of the week at craps.
And the liver results are in: after telling the doc of my sickness over the week, he thinks it's mono or CMV. I'm going back in tomorrow to get a battery of blood tests, but he didn't seem too concerned once I told him I was sick. My AST/ALT levels were 400+ (normally no more than 60), and my bilirubin was 3.8 (normally no more than 2). 😱
Yikes, hope you're well!
Haha, sorry about the lip. In that case, I started my EM rotation a year ago... I was there for a gnarly case of parotitis (my cheek was swollen to the size of a tennis ball) the docs learned I was applying to medical school, so they printed out a bunch of pages for me to read up about my condition.
Edit: In an hour I'm going to have a 60 minute massage... fo free! (Minus tip.) My grandpa won a massage gift certificate at some raffle and didn't want it, so for whatever reason he gave it to me. I'm stoked.
Edit #2: Top!
So jealous of your massage! I would so get one, but I am afraid the noises I'd make during the massage would lead to a shutdown of the facility, because people would think more than a massage is going on back there...
Not so jealous of your parotitis, although I don't know if there is even anything that can really be done other than "waiting it out"?
