It was the last 2 winters, just so we're clear. 😉 They have be cah-razy.

It is VERY rarely that cold in NYC and Philly. I'd say the teens (Farenheit) are the coldest we get most winters.

I had a classmate or two my first semester of college in NYC that were from SoCal and had never actually seen snow before in their lives. They were cute about it.

Haha, yeah the cold doesn't worry me. The only thing that woulid bother me is having to buy real snow boots as opposed to walking around in designer boots that definitely were not designed for snow, but I do it anyway! At least that's what I did in Montreal and I just kept slipping around...which led to a lot of body aches the days after I first landed! 🙁

So at Ikea, I went back today and noticed they have their "back to school" sale of sorts. Nothing is really "on sale" other than there is a lot of "last chance" merchandise--so it sounds like about 10-20% of their stuff is being discounted significantly and possibly discontinued.

I know that bed wise, nothing is reallly on sale really. I'm happy I went back with my mom and figured out that I needed a bigger and more expensive dresser--that they're willing to pay for! 😛 It's sad though, I can't actually lift the box which houses the dresser, but can lift my computer desk/drawers...so weird!

Which bed was that? None of the beds I saw were "last chance"....

Cougs helped me decide to get a mattress + foundation instead of a bed. There was a metal bed that I wanted originally, but my brother demonstrated that it would be too squeaky....so then I decided to get a Malm bed, but Cougs and I thought it'd be easier to just get a mattress and foundation! 🙂

He got up on the bed in front of his partner and me, got on his knees, put his hands on the rail, and started shaking the bed. IN FRONT OF EVERYONE AT IKEA. I am le sad though because no place to attach handcuffs 🙁

He definitely gave me good advice..don't wants no squeaking! 🙂

Well I imagine it varies from location to location depending on what they have in stock.

I finally ordered the Geekling's crib. Their bedroom is still full of un-unpacked boxes, however. That is one of my tasks for the few weeks before school.

So today, I ended up cleaning out my room and found ONE MORE BOX of stuff I need to pack! 🙁 I already sent off 5 boxes yesterday through USPS to my apartment, now I gotta send another one! lol...*sigh* each box is like 40 lbs, I felt bad for the post office clerk who had to handle my box. He was like "put it on the scale for me please"

Kinda jealous! Spent most of today rearranging my room's present furniture so my parents could convert the room into their gym...*sigh*. I'm now sleeping on an air mattress in my room lol.....and I leave Friday AM lol.

Haha! I'm definitely excited to start a new chapter of my life, but nervous too..but mostly about receiving all of the boxes I just shipped lol..and the cost of everything! so ****ing expensive! 🙁

Someone just paid with a $2 bill in the clinic. I exchanged two-$1 bills for it. I'm too excited for something this lame.

Just got off the phone with someone at school about what I'll have to do when I pop. If I can't make the final for anatomy, I'll have to take an incomplete in the course until I can make it up. The problem would be the practical part of the final, which might have to wait until the summer if nothing else. That would suck, but I'm going to talk to the co-directors of the course at orientation and hopefully I won't have to wait that long.

If its a boy, you should definitely name it Indiana and train him to be a gun-sligging archeologist 😎
 
Haha! Wouldn't I have to name the kid a junior after my husband, and eventually he'd choose to call himself the dog's name (Lucy... not as cool as Indiana)? 😉

We actually decided not to find out what we're having this time. We'd both like a boy but we'd also be really happy if Chicklet had a sister. We thought it would be fun to be surprised this time. 🙂

Hey guys,

My friends and I were discussing this issue because Ikea is going to charge me 15 bucks per "flight of stairs" above the third flight. When defining a "flight of stairs", do you guys define it as the stairway between floors or between a floor and a landing (flat area where a stairway changes directions, usually a 90 or 180 degree turn)?

Assuming my 4th floor apartment has U shaped stairs all the way up, I could either have three flights (former defn) or six flights (latter defn). What do you guys think?

Obviously, Ikea's delivery service makes the final call, but I wanted your opinions! 🙂
