It's been pretty good. Some of the presentations I don't feel like I got a lot out of, but most of them have been useful. Almost all of them have been a good length and didn't seem to drag on, too.

They've been feeding us well, too. 🙂

my school bans students from wearing scrubs anywhere outside of the hospital or anatomy lab. I guess I'll never know what it feels like to participate in the perennial allo-forum argument about whether wearing scrubs to starbucks/class/wherever = instant douchebag or not
 
So I gave in and outed my SDN persona to our bearded old pal Pons earlier tonight, and he *may* be coming back to us sometime soon. But with that being said, I don't want to get everyone's hopes up...

I'm slightly jelly of the Chicago posse but LA is rebounding.

Have you guys started yet? I'm three days in, and it's aweful! lol just kidding. But seriously, it's amazing how much material there is. I'm swimming in it. Making my first cuts tomorrow!

I wish I could've joined. 🙁 Sorry dudes. I was in moving truck hell yesterday... it took over two hours to return that stupid thing not counting the other errands we had to do. My girlfriend and I were gone from 11-5. We will definitely need to get together some other time... Chicago Posse 4 lyfe.

trio, you are our fav. Of course we spent the ENTIRE night just gossiping about you (i kid i kid). It was more about how sad it is that UIC OOS tuition is so high -- preventing you from joining us.

We also "gossiped" about Daisy and HalfGlass (app-buddy)... well, more so I mentioned them because I put some blonde highlights into my hair yesterday. I need to compete with the SDN hotties. =P

Lol aww that sounds cute! It's funny that Kaushik can put a face to a SDN name based on an interview day, while Shanks and Cougs can put a face to a name based on casual interaction..I wonder if the general consensus differs. 😛

But ya, if UIC tuition were low enough, it would be my first choice bc it's got a great area! I also have a friend going to RFU, so it would've been nice to have more friends in the general area. I'm alone right now--I only get to play with friends from HS who are now here in the city, my roommate, Shanks, and when he comes, MB(whatever the rest of those numbers are)....I need to tell him to get his ass back into this thread.

Last night our school threw a party at the Mutter Museum. If you're ever in Philly, I highly suggest going there. It's full of medical oddities, and some of them are absolutely incredible.

Our ceremony's on the 13th but we have to pick up our coats from the bookstore beforehand; I might end up picking it up later today.

Also, a bunch of us incoming M1s from my school got together last night. A lot of shenanigans were had. I already love my class! 🙂
 
I found the color combo for the stethoscope I want... but you can only get it in the Littmann Classic II Infant. 🙁

Raspberry tubing with rainbow finish. The rainbow finish on the Classic II SE has Caribbean Blue tubing.

Really, I'll probably wind up getting the Cardiology III in Plum. I'd rather have the purple color the Classic II SE comes in, but they don't have it. That said, Plum is also quite purty.

I'm being girly.
 
My kid may wind up being one of those "I've wanted to be a doctor for as long as I can remember" people. She told me yesterday she wanted her own white coat, and she keeps asking me to open my bone box and tell her about the contents.

So like 2 months ago I researched and researched and settled on what I think is an amazing stethoscope in terms of sound amplitude, clarity for high pitches and low pitches, and price. And I bought it. And then my school surprised everyone with the same scope at our white coat ceremony 😎

So now when mine gets stolen or something, I have another exactly like it 😳

Aww, Sun, that is the best way to think about it. They didn't give us steths. I think reps are supposed to come next week and we might be able to get a deal on a stethoscope then. If not, then I'm just going to order one, or the hubster will.

I haz a sad. My Ikea Brooklyn trip did not reslut in the cookies I had wanted to buy...at the recommendation of Cougs. 🙁
 
I got myself a shiny new North Face backpack today. There was another one by High Sierra I liked a lot, too, but this one seemed like it had more space inside after a laptop was in there and I like the way this one's straps fit over my shoulders more.

This one, in Moonlight Ivory. This was the other one I liked, in Cosmic Girl. Despite having 100 cubic inches on the North Face one, it didn't feel as big. I also couldn't bring myself to spend $80-$90 on a different North Face pack.

I'm still debating exchanging it because I'm the most indecisive person on the planet.

I could never myself be the sort to take the steampunk thing super serious. But I love the costumes, it looks like a lot of fun, like living in Final Fantasy or whatever.
