it's not an excuse for having less posts or less time to write posts. it's consolation.

anyways...had my first test. P=MD 👍 It was a very strong P but I feel a bit frustrated...felt like most of the test was too easy and then there were a few questions that were too hard/picky about really unimportant things...whereas I actually learned a lot of picky things in very important areas that weren't tested on. Oh well

among the many, many important picky things I learned: mechanisms and indications for lots of antibiotics covered in assigned textbook readings. mechanisms of many genetic diseases the textbook readings covered. mechanisms of 20 developmental abnormalities the textbooks covered.

picky things that were actually tested on: one genetic disease, the full name of the enzyme in the lac operon.

medical school is now consuming my life...last week, in a good way--socialization since the thursday before orientation up til now. Hung out with my school and MB333999's crew at his school too! Now things have slowed down and we're all in school mode--it's major suckzors.

we have a quiz the friday after next. **** lol. We're also learning very basic stuff right now--at least yesterday was lots of "UNdetailed ****". Today, I'll probably eat my words since we're being slammed with four lectures on god knows what.
 
So far the hardest part of medical school for me has been trying to remember all of the paperwork I have to turn in. 🙄

I am remembering why I didn't want a LD relationship. I am perfectly fine and happy because I am so busy,but pretty much all my boyfriend feels is neglect and sadness🙁 I don't know how to fix this.

I haven't had Internet for the first week of med school either... finally I obtained ethernet wiring so I can skype without being bitten by 1000 mosquitoes in the dark.

Yeah, my boyfriend is pretty much the same too. It's getting better but he's one of the emotional types and has no idea what to do.

People just need to be less complicated...

...the lectures go too fast! I need to go through the material a lot slower on my own after class anyways, so I'm ditching lecture and skipping straight to that step of the process.

Yeah, I skipped a good 4 hours of lecture today. I don't regret my decision.

Could work. Me, I think I'd still benefit from just being present even if my primitive brain wouldn't be able to keep up.

I do, too. This is more a metaphor for the application process--the elation we feel when we finally find the marble in the oatmeal--only to find that our reward of med school is a bit overwhelming. This is, of course, my exaggerated perception based on everyone's posts so far.
