Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
^ i accomplished absolutely nothing this weekend and now i will have to stay up all night tonight studying for monday's anatomy quiz. now i will be tired and cranky for the next two days and less able to learn the new material.

is it possible to exhibit self-destructive behavior with something as inherently constructive as studying? i think i'm doing that.

Starting that now. I thought extremities was fun until the practical took me behind the woodshed for a beating.

They split us into three blocks: 1. back + arm, 2. thorax abdomen, lower limb. 3. Head and neck. I would go back to the first or second block, anyday. It's hard to get a great mental picture of spatial structures in the neck, for me.

Yea, we had three blocks:
1. back + thorax + upper extremity
2. head + neck
3. abdomen + pelvis + lower extremity

GLAD IT'S OVER. 👍

Wow, I couldn't imagine being tested on all of those systems at once. Exams on single systems were tough enough.

We had a similar system, only on a two-exam schedule.

I: upper extremity, lower extremity, back, thorax
II: abdomen, pelvis, head/neck

End of block was today, I am done with anatomy provided I didn't screw up the practicals too bad. 🙂

It was our only class for nine weeks, but dissecting every third day for that whole time AND learning embryo for it all at the same time = exhausting.

Oh, and each exam had 20% material from the previous section(s). Eek. Again, glad it's over. Though, biochem is BORING now... that and ethics til Winter Break!!

😱 that's insanity

Our blocks:
Thorax
Abdomen/Pelvis
Upper/lower extremities & back/spine
Head & Neck
With embryology integrated.

Our other course was histo/cell bio.

Are you guys learning any physiology?

Next block have physio and biochem. Right before that starts though (aka right now) we're doing two classes: biostats/epi and preventive/community medicine.

I wish it was every third day. They have us alternate each day between anatomy lab and histology lab.

That's how we roll here, too. It was the only thing we were taking at that time, though.

Next block we do neuro for 1 month then physio for 2 months. It's a bizarre set-up, but I'm looking forward to both.

We have patient as a person/business of medicine/biostats/ethics mixed into every block, and sometimes a random lecture from other science disciplines.

You forgot to mention that they gave us 3 days to learn all of lower extremity. 👎

Let me just say that I'm so fricken happy that we're moving on to biochem. This stuff is a joke compared to what I did in undergrad.

Amen. I'm taking naps everyday. I think I might pick up more hours at work. I finally cleaned my apartment.

Biochem starts off easy. And then you get the 50 pathways bomb.

if I did, I don't think Dumbledore and the Ministry would allow me to blab about it all over the internet, do you? 😉
Sun, between your status and your avatar, I'm a little worried about your emotional well-being. Maybe that pancake-only diet does bad things to your serotonin levels.

Serotonin: vasoconstrictor or vasodilator? PICK A SIDE

WTF?! HOW?!? Do you have a time turner?

I'm guessing it's "the fear"

I have found that "the fear" can motivate you to accomplish some extraordinary superhuman things.

I realized that I have less than a year left to get my 5-year member badge. Damn, time flies.

+pad+

Heinz has a limited edition ketchup that is mixed with balsamic vinegar. I don't like ketchup but that sounds really good to me!

DOOOOOOD, where can I get THIS? I saw this post on my phone and dropped by my supermarket--they don't carry this!

Sucks about the rain, it was a beautiful fall day in LA. It was so fall-y, in fact, that the on-campus Starbucks sold out of pumpkin spice mix for pumpkin spice lattes 🙁 Life is hard.
