hey tham, or anyone else. Any idea what this reconsiliation bill is that they are voting on right now?
I'll be worse come interview season.
Me too. I've been relatively relaxed since I took the MCAT so early, but I'm prepared for some anal retentive stress once my application's out. Hopefully I can resist coming on here and fueling my neurotic anxieties...
yo when you ask some1 for LOR do u ask them for a hard copy with their signature or do you ask for a scanned copy and put it on interfolio or whatever its called... im confused.
I thought for Interfolio, the recommenders would have to either have a LOR writer account and upload it or you can ask them to mail their LOR to Interfolio. But the Interfolio cover page has to be included when you mail it; it has a bar code so when Interfolio receives it, it will be easier for them to put it in your file. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.
oooooooooo im slowly starting to understand the process. thx for the response.
curbye, did this girl have fake tits?

Hey, guys. I'm working on my personal statement now. I wonder how long (length) your personal statements are. I'm getting mixed answers. Some people told me "the longer, the better", and some people told me "don't write a long statement because nobody has time to read a 4000 words essay"..I think my personal statement is just going to be around two pages, single space (about 800-1000 words). Is that too short?
you have 5300 characters (including spaces) max. So its not as much about a word count. As far as length theres no right answer. Write as much is needed. Its about content not length. If you ramble on for the sake of making it 5300 characters then you failed. If you can say everything you need in 4000 thats fine. If it takes the max thats fine too. Just dont be too creative and get to the point. The word count is irrelevant.Hey, guys. I'm working on my personal statement now. I wonder how long (length) your personal statements are. You guys have started writing your personal statements already? Now I feel behind. I won't start until after May 1. 😳

5300 is going to put you at about 1.5 pages max regardless. Looking at my PS last year it was 5285 characters, 1.5 pages, and 996 words. Mine was the max because i needed all that room to explain my past, and im a non-trad so i had a bit more to say then others. I know several who i applied with who wrote far less and were just as accepted as me so like i said length doesnt matter really.
Starbucks and AAMC 8... NOW!
worst VR by far... a 7. I had been getting 10's and 11's with ease. Oh well, another day another dollar.
PS 6 is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring. seriously i can't even make it through these passages. SO BORING
Do you mean they sped up the framerate or they just had a lot of cuts in the footage? I figured they just showed a few seconds of each part of the procedure to give you the idea of what they're doing then moved on, but it doesn't seem like everything's sped up to me.the surg video is really sped up. i was like WOW THEY DO THAT FAST then i realized they had sped it up so it wasn't so long.
I'm so not cut out for ortho. general surgery I dig, but ortho pretty much freaks me out.So... here's an AWESOME total knee replacement video. VERY cool.
I alternate. Sometimes I watch and my stomach turns, other times I just watch in total fascination. I think I've gotten more squeamish about certain things as time passesI'm so not cut out for ortho. general surgery I dig, but ortho pretty much freaks me out.
I don't think I could even tolerate ortho cases as an anesthesiologist.
Nice video Queen Geek. Some days I think ortho is perfect for me, other days it gives me the heeby jeezys. Good thing we've got time.
heebie jeebies+young jeezy= heeby jeezy
LOL, I almost want to keep a spreadsheet of everyone that posts regularly in the 2015 thread. SDN screen name, state of residence, top three school choices, top three specialty choices. See where we all end up, then dust it off 5 years from now and see what specialties we pick.
I'm sure I'd lose it eventually, though. Sad but true. Computers like to die on me suddenly with all my crap still inside. 🙁Do it.

lol geekchick is going to turn out to be an adcom in disguise - trying to make a spreadsheet of everyone to learn more about their lives haha, just kidding
i'm so tired. i might watch a classic favorite and pass out soon after.
Sounds like you're going to rock your MCAT. 10's and 11's on V is amazing. I was average a 5 before the test and pulled out an 11. ;p
