I didn't know that, but am not surprised. AMCAS doesn't really want to correct it, the expectations of the applicant are ridiculously high and higher income individuals will be better able to meet those expectations.

True... but this is still America and thankfully you can still be anything you want to be when you grow up if you work hard. America loves to root for the underdog and stick it to the man. We love good old fashioned hard work and the success that only comes from blood, sweat and tears. I still think when you climb your way to the top the people already there will reach down and help you up that last couple of feet. Kinda like the movie the blind side haha

I legitimately think old men need viagara because of their partners. I can't imagine me being in my 40's and not being aroused by an attractive female.

The trophy wife was a little sarcastic lol, I just feel it necessary because my mom may be a trophy wife and because of the whole future doctor thing.

Not gonna lie though, everytime I see a milf my first thought always is, "I wouldn't mind my wife looking like that at her age". And due to my dating history, neither I nor those who know me would be surprised if I did end up marrying a woman classified as a trophy wife because I would rather have a stay-at-home wife than a working wife and I've been known to have exquisite taste in women.

So I found out that you can call interfolio and have them varify that all of your letters are on official letter head and they are all signed. I called them today and found out 2/5 letters are not signed! I was really proactive and collected all of my letters back in December, they are all uploaded to AMCAS already. I go to a school that puts out hundreds of med school applicants every year, I thought that these professors knew what they were doing. They put their contact info and everything but didn't sign it. I can't believe that I requested my letters so long ago and now I'm going to have to stress on them re-uploading the letter and then wait for amcas to receive it... again.

If you have interfolio then I recommend you call and check on your letters.

On a side note, my PI called me out on being slightly hungover this morning. But he forgot all about it when I found out a key part of the signal transduction pathway in diabetic glaucoma. Just gotta inhibit the cytokine and run some assays. Research is much more enjoyable when you are getting results and your PI isn't making fun of you IMO.

1) go to amcas and create a letter request form.
2) go to interfolio and send the lor to the adress on the amcas request form, it will also as you to enter you amcas ID, and the letter ID (which is also on the request form from amcas)
3) pay $4
4) wait 🙁
5) wait 😡
6) wait 😱
7) receive e-mail from amcas that your letter was received 👍
8) be happy 🙂

If you submit early, like June 1-5th you will start seeing schools who don't screen and want your money (creighton, gwu, gtown etc) send you secondaries at the end of June. I know I had several. In the end though a long as you apply in June and are verified before the end if June/ early July you are fine. The diff between being verified June 5th and June 25 th Is absolutely none. Elijah, when you submitted your primary did you limit the number of LOR you sent to the school. If they say that they want 3 letters (but don't specify a maximum) did you send more? I'm wondering if I just send all 5 LOR that I have to the schools on the primary, will there be an option on the secondary asking which ones I am using to meet their requirements?

I've been straightening out my LOR issue. One of my profs who didn't sign his letter is old (and therefore not technology savvy), and rather than fax or submit electronically he decided this time he will snail mail it... ugh. I had to deliver a stamped/addressed envelope to him. Really frustrated with the whole situation.

I gave all my writers the option to mail. One mailed on a Saturday and Interfolio had it up by Tuesday. Its pretty quick.

That school is really getting out of hand. I think going up there to cutabitch is a good idea.

As for me, I'm still undecided about where I'm applying, but I am looking up secondaries and starting to work on some basic themes. My personal statement is pretty much done, though I am going to look at it a little more. I think with these things you reach a point where you're just making it worse...

I'm going to be at a really intense research job this summer, so I'm trying to get everything done early. Otherwise, I won't have much time until August to get this all done.

I sent 4 letters to everyone and no one cared or gave
me an issue. Trust me they figure it out. All lors are electronic an they can access and choose whatever. Just choose to send all lors to everyone if you want. It didn't affect me and I doubt it would affect you. If you'd like you can pick n choose it's easy enough. And I think most if not all Secondaries asked you for the names of your letter writer writers.

My transcript, which my email says was sent, has still not been received by AMCAS. I may not be able to submit on the first day like I wanted. But it's okay, first week should be fine.

BTW, do any schools want LORs as part of your primary? I should have them all by May 30, but if you have to wait after Interfolio sends 'em, that'll also take a while. Agh. Stressful process.
