Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This. It should probably become intuitive for you at some point.

I haven't really done more than casually practice my trumpet since high school, but I've played it since I was 12 and if I attended a school with a band or orchestra, like Jeff, I'd REALLY want to join. I was thinking of rolling that and singing, which I DID take lessons for in college outside of my classwork, into an EC as an artistic endevour or hobby. WDYT?
go for it.

i wish i wouldlve kept up with my trumpet... i've been considering reteaching myself.

It will come back to you so fast if you do, I'm sure.

I would love to practice more, but I'm in an apartment, so... yeah. That may not fly. I could stick a mute in it, though.

i just started teaching myself guitar three weeks ago...do you have any tips?
skinny fingers with great dexterity. haha. i tried guitar in high school and my finger control is not precise enough to be good at guitar.

haha yeah...learn the basics! it really depends what type of playing you like to do

start out practicing some basic chords...i only know the basics, but it get u to get your fingers moving quickly if u can switch between the chords

chords are boring though, so if you look online and learn how to play "tabs" its really easy. thats what i play, i dont even like to read real notes i think they make it too complicated. if you can read tabs and you can find some really cool songs online for free and have fun with it

PM me and il tell u some more stuff

Hmm......

Also, I'm really into Mumford & Sons at the moment.

hahaha just saw you guys talk about how I was creepily lurking. And I totally was because I didn't have anything relevant to contribute to the conversation.

while I'm waiting on secondaries the irrelevant conversation is more interesting and appreciated 🙂

Yeah, really. Being relevant is overrated.

What's everyone been up to this weekend? I went to a little artsy festival today. It was a pretty good time.

Nothing much. I made banana pancakes for breakfast. Then we farted around. Took the dog for a bath and it was so raging hot today we decided to window shop at the mall while the dog was getting clean. We bought a couple things, like some books and I got sandals. Came home, farted around some more. I'm about to go out to Applebee's for a friend's birthday but it's also about to storm. I was going to walk because it's only a few blocks away but now I don't want to be stuck in a downpour so I'm going to drive.

Tomorrow we need to go food shopping, probably buy an A/C for Chicklet's room, and do laundry.

Woot! I live an exciting life!

Went to 2 final test review sessions and am working on a practice physiology exam right now... gonna take it with me to work b/c I just got called in to set up for some ortho cases. We've got 4 more tonight b/c 1 doc couldn't get block time during the week and another doctor is essentially a cat person (lonely, with nothing better to do than work on the weekend).

My son almost schooled me in a game of horse earlier... he's only 8 years old . I am going to be so bummed when he can beat me at everything haha

Haha, you might need to step up your game! But I think that might be a natural part of life.

Quick question (sorry if it has been answered before), but I am a reapplicant and was wondering if I have to resend my college transcript if I have no new grades and AMCAS has all of my previous grades in the system already, verified from last year.

Other than that, hello 2015!!

I definitely had to step my game up. That's what I get for underestimating my opponent. I thought I should take it easy on him then he started busting all these good shots in a row... but in the end I'm not above going 100% effort against a child :meanie:

You're right though about that being the nature of life... which is why I have to get my wins in now haha

Did you start your app for this year? Does AMCAS say they have your transcripts are received?

I believe you do.

Also, you should have been here for the dancers discussion. 😉

ice breaker, round 100

whats your favorite movie?

I feel like when I was a kid my parents didn't go easy on me. But, then again, I'm pretty much the opposite of athletic so they probably were. Your son sounds like he'll be kicking your butt in no time.

I never have anything to contribute. 😀

I mean, I wasn't going to say anything...

Though you should contribute a pic of you in your favorite pants. 😛

Uhh, I'd have to say Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (if I'm feeling sappy). Though I did like 500 Days of Summer.

I'm not really one to rewatch movies, though, so any movie I watch again is pretty far up there on the list.

That's a depression-inducing couple of movies.

i havent seen sunshine though everyone says its worth the time

favorite movies is tough, but all time: Father of the Bride, Sleepless in Seattle, Love Actually. That's misleading though, because I also really like sports-related movies, adventure (like the Bourne series), and for some reason drug movies intrigue me (like Trainspotting). That's my indecisive answer 🙂

Sounds Like my life everyday. The life of a parent so exciting lol 😉. We took my son for a picnic today and that was the highlight of my day.

It's good but a little sad. I try not to watch it alone.

I like dark humor, so another fun one is Wristcutters: A Love Story. And I also liked 300... and then I do enjoy films about Africa (which tend to be depressing).

Really I'll watch just about anything, except for maybe war movies.

lol, well that's no good. Doesn't sound like a great date.

On my first date with my bf we went to the theaters to see When a Stranger Calls (yeah it's been a while). My god what a horrible movie.

I really like war movies... saving private ryan, enemy at the gates, band of brothers mini series, black hawk down, I'm sure I'm leaving out some good ones...

Sorry, I'm just too direct for euphemisms. If someone asks me outright about something like that I'd just be straight with them.

And yeah, I just don't have favorites. I know people who will have a favorite movie they've seen 10 times. I just don't do that.

I just ask myself which movies will I always stop and watch for a few minutes if they show up on tv.

I was gonna say...I would actually look forward to ice cream or another dessert of some kind.

Also, just got netflix and I'm really overwhelmed with how many movies I haven't seen and want to.

lol i never ever want anymore kids. One is more then enough for a lifetime. I think geek is crazy with her 3 kids idea or w/e!

as far as fav movie...i think anchorman ranks up there for me. Its a classic 🙂

Looove Netflix instant play. I've seen so many obscure movies lately because of it.

As for what I'm doing tonight, I'm not sure - probably just chillin. I just moved in for my internship on Sunday, and most of the people I've met so far are pretty anti-social. Hopefully things will pick up by next weekend.

yeah u just gotta find the right people

cousin's 24th bday....should be fun
