hmmm...I think you should still apply, though. This year was the first year they had a verbal cutoff of 11. They seem to have lowered the Bio/PS sections cutoff and raised the verbal section cutoff. They might do the opposite this year...it's always different depending on the pool of applicants.

yea maybe, but too be honest i dont really care, i dont really want to spend another 4 years here anyway... cuz that would be 8 straight years in one pllacee.. thats a lot for meee.

my ex used always ruin her "surprises" for me. i quoted surprises because she could never wait long enough to surprise me. i love surprises so that really bugged the **** out of me.

Yeah I HATE surprises. If you want to surprise me you have to tell me NOTHING. If I know there is surprise coming I get all pissy about it🙂

Not gonna lie... had my second kaplan teacher training today and I kinda sucked. I prepared all wrong for my teachbacks. Gotta wow the trainer in the next session to save face. But I got really solid feedback so I think I can step up to the challenge =).

My husband surprised me by having dinner ready when I got home from work last night. It was a surprise because he wasn't supposed to be home at all until Friday. 😍 Of course he had to leave again, but it was still a nice surprise.

watching the 5/27/10 mcat group peeps freak out is pretty entertaining btw for anyone else passing time in their cubicles

WashU secondary email received this morning. I'm so worried I'm gonna get important emails to my spam and miss them. Even after my new filter, I still seem to have problems missing a couple.

I could agree with that. I wish I had more time to prepare, so I won't be surprised if I have to retake, but for the school I'm applying to I only need a 28. I could possibly squeak in with a 26 and might be pushing it with a 24. I am hoping and praying and doing whatever I can for a 28 though.

Yeah you warned how much work it is... I didn't believe you but after my first teachback yesterday, I sure do. How much did you generally have to prep per week once you really got the hang of it (not for teachbacks, but for the "real thing")? I'm not sure if I can commit 20-25hr/week to this whole thing.

Are you getting this from my MD Apps? Why don't you just PM me if you don't want to post it. I started at NYU, transferred to and graduated from Arcadia, started my pre-reqs at PSU then went back to Arcadia to finish them.

it's hard to say since i've been with kaplan for so long.. when i started teaching the mcat i had a lot of fundamentals down already. to be really good i think the first time prepping is ~4 hours a class, but your mileage may vary, of course.. it still takes me a solid 1-2 hours to re-prep for classes i've already taught. that being said, i do kind of rock, lots of people get by with less.
 
Any of you kids get the UVM secondary yet? Someone on the school specific thread reports they did today....


Edit: Ugh....upstairs neighbor officially has a new girlfriend. Blah. I just want to take a nap🙁

Naw that sounds about right... I'm not sure if I'd be able to handle ~16+ hours per week of Kaplan. I think I bit off more than I can chew this summer/coming semester. I let the $$$/hr cloud my judgment haha.

didn't get the UVM secondary. I saw that post too haha.

Sucks about the neighbor. That happened to me last year, except it was my roommate. Walls are thin. 👎
 
I gotta say, if you roll into an MCAT score thread and say you got a 40+, and you only registered a month ago and have only a handful of posts to your name, I don't believe it for a second. Of course, I'm sure plenty of the claimed MCAT scores around here are BS, but I take those people with grains of rock salt.

Statistically, there are not a whole lot of people with 40's or above. (I believe it's 1000 of the 50,000 applicants to med school?)

Observationally, those people are darn likely to brag however and wherever possible.
