It's going good! I finally am done with all that transcript nonsense. AMCAS got verified on the 2nd (and they got my letters either yesterday or today) and I got secondaries from Penn, Temple and Jeff last week. Penn's is ready to go, I think... I'm just pussyfooting around about actually submitting it. I am going to try to do it tonight after work.

I'm still waiting for AACOMAS to verify, but I submitted that later. I'm not as worried about that one, though, as I'm only going to get one secondary from that application.

What about you, lady?

you should hand deliver all of your secondaries with roses and fruit baskets.

yay! i'm glad everything with the transcripts is finally over! but stop pussyfooting! the quicker you send it, the quicker you get the interview invite 😀

you should stay on AACOMAS ass tho...they have been screwing people over, so make sure everything is good with them

not much on my end. still looking for a job...no one is calling back, which is really frustrating 🙁

i still have 5 secondaries to send, but those will be sent by friday when i get the money

Thanks 🙂. I received Davis last night (I was up studying when it arrived). I got two e-mails both at the same time. One said they started screening and the other said I passed the screen... it was kinda weird... but in an awesome way 👍

hahaha after alllll that, i finally did! i updated my MDapps which should reflect my final list, and some of my progress. i know im falling behind on some of the secondaries but hopefully this week i can catch up and get some in

just checked, and i got the David secondary too! so congrats rhino......but i dont know what type of screen that was lol i got both emails at once as well.





Geekchick, i'm sure you would know (or anyone else please chime in): do we really need to type everything out for the Jefferson secondary? i have like 3000 characters and i dont feel like typing it all lol is there a way to copy/paste for that secondary??!?

I actually haven't tried that secondary yet. Seems that a lot of people on the SSD thread for Jeff have been having problems with it. There's also some confusion about whether the character limit is 2000 or 4000, but supposedly someone called the office and they're aware of the problem and are working on it, or something to that effect.
 
ucD does a fairly light screen. You can sorta think of it this way. About 50% of people will get uci and ucd secondaries. Ucla screens a bit more so abouT 35% get secondaries. And ucsf and ucsd screen very very hard. So <35%

Also, I am finally caught up! No secondaries hanging over my head. So relieving... :soexcited:

(of course now that I say this I'm going to get a bunch all at once)

Hahaha, yeah, finishing Yale made me done done🙂 It is being proofed now, but at least it is written!

Come on UCSD...show me some love. I decided that a UCSD secondary is the official marker for whether or not I decide to take classes this fall. Something needs to happen by the 20th, because that is my registration date.

Thank you 😍. I am really happy to get the secondary. It is a beast. Four essay prompts, plus three detailed experience explanations. 100% worth the effort though. I want to start on it, but I have 2 exams today and am going to be in class until 9 pm. boooo summer school!

I had to type mine in for Jeff. I did it on word, then printed it and typed it into the box. It only took ~10 minutes to copy it. It is a lame system that they are using, but I doubt there is any way around it.

Yes! I have a great red velvet recipe! 👍 The stethoscope could be a little tricky considering I have no artistic talent though. What about sprinkles in your school colors?

My email is quiet and it's a little unnerving. But it will be until my LOR writer fixes his letterhead/signed problem. When he's back on this side of the country...

Maybe, maybe not. I got one before they knew I applied. And today I got an email making sure I got the one that I got before they knew I applied. I am happy because I heart them; but they are getting my hopes up.

I heard that weed reduces your chances of getting lung cancer, so you can always toke some to clean your lungs out after a cig :laugh:
 
jefferson has moved way down my list of favorite schools outside of Cali because of their lame system...it doesnt even save your old info WOW

UChicago is always the school looking for something really strange that we can't pinpoint without being on the adcom. Given your other interview, I really don't think it reflects upon your competitiveness. Plus for all you know it's full of weirdos. 🙂

Thanks 🙂. Although I felt like I might be their kind of weirdo, I guess not. Hahaha. It's them not me right?! ;p

BTW, still no more secondaries today, which I thought was a little weird. Maybe tomorrow. 😀 I still need to write Baylor, Yale, and UVA tho! (and I really like them, so I should really get on that lol.. but I have 4 hours of riding in the car to get that done tomorrow)

Also, 2 hours until this paper is due... I should probably get back to that.

Icebreaker questions in case we have some noobs:

If you could drive one car (produced in the last 10 years) for the rest of your life, what would it be? You can't ever rent or borrow any other car. This is much harder than a dream car question IMO (I'm a car guy kinda...)
