Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy B-day cougs 🙂

and happy belated b-day Whimsy 🙂

I just completed an app that was ridiculously hard. A lot of questions, many things that were covered on AMCAS already. Each questions was "Tell us how this experience deeply impacted you and changed the course of your life. Please explain in four sentences or less." 😱 That is not a lot of room to explain a life changing event!

Oh well... I did it, so challenge passed 👍

damn you! the questions are reallllly annoying

btw did u fill out the info for PRIME? (i hope i have u on the right app lol).....i don't know if i should do it or not, or if it will have any affect on my regular MD app...

i didnt apply prime but from last years cycle it seems that, apparently it doesnt matter. If you apply for prime it will be considered as a sort of separate app. People who applied for prime were considered for both md and prime and sometimes only offered one or the other...For example maybe you wont get into prime but can still be considered for the regular MD program.

truthfully you want to practice in a rural area for sure? Theres no going back if you did get in and matriculate without heavy penalties (financially). If admitted would it be like your number one choice? If you are using it for an increased "chance" to be admitted to UCD then its a waste of time. If it is seriously your number one if admitted and you know for sure that rural medicine is for you then go for it.

btw they changed the questions for ucd from last year, i like last years more i read this years and i was :scared:

ive worked with low-income and homeless people before so that is a viable option, but i would rather do the regular MD. i just dont want them to be like "well we would rather him do rural given his background so well accept him for prime and not for MD, you know?

not going to happen so dont worry about that. I come from a low income/rural area and have several things in my app that scream working with underserved/rural and i didnt apply. Hell i even wrote about these experiences all over my 2ndary and still didnt do rural. They never asked me why i didnt apply rural and if they looked at it as a bad thing i wouldnt have been accepted. They did ask me about where i see myself and about those experiences but i never said id for sure be in a rural area. And i was obviously accepted so i wouldnt worry too much. UCD is very into applicants who will serve rural/underserved areas because its hard to recruit people to many of the areas of norcal and sacramento. but that doesnt mean they want everyone to apply rural prime.

Also the fact that you said youd rather do a regular MD answers your question. Do not apply to rural prime. It would only come to hurt you later.

Thanks for the advice, i probably wont, but just curious as to what you mean... why would it hurt me later?

Sure, why not 😛

btw is it also whimsy's bday? HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Whimsicle's was a few days ago but she totally didn't get enough birthday love.

Its not certain i was just saying its a possibility. For example, at the interview you would be asked several times about your commitment to rural and how your life experiences/activities show this etc etc...you dont sound certain that you want to do this, if it came across this way it would only be a bad thing and a knock on you as an applicant for both programs. You dont sound committed to rural med, and working with low income/homeless does not equate to working in rural communities. think of it this way, would you rather your interview be about why medicine and yourself and ucd? Or why rural medicine and ucd? Overall since in your eyes MD > rural, its just a waste of time imo. But your choice🙂.

Hey, E, can you do me a favor? Can you like, somehow make it so that Davis has an ocean nearby so that I can apply there? K, thx.

I am going to fail my test tomorrow.

Somehow, I can't bring myself to care too much right now.

I am taking a break; can you tell?🙂 You guys have 20 minutes to entertain me😉

I just wanted to share with the thread that a song just came on this radio station called "let's make nasty" it seemed appropriate to our thread.

 always appropriate. Nice that you know the nature of this thread!

I don't know, Flow, you've hurt me enough. It may be time to move on to the less shady eligible bachelors of 2015.

Any takers? 😍

The couch dweller texted me happy birthday.

And OH! I found out; he was staying on my couch because he met a girl in San Diego and wanted to be closer to her. Two days after he left my couch he became Facebook official with her.
