Awww....nevermind...no tortoise for me🙁 I just read this:



10) I have dogs. Can I have turtles in with the dogs? [Darrell Senneke] I can count on one certain thing to happen every year. Someone will inform me that their dog mauled their turtle or tortoise. These people are nearly always shocked, as their dog never showed any interest or aggression towards the chelonian in the past. Dogs can not be trusted with turtles and tortoises. Often after years of indifference the dog will suddenly decide that the tortoise is simply a bone that moves. I lost the first two tortoises I ever owned on the same night to my pet collie. This dog had shared a room in the house with the tortoises for six years prior to the attack.

You just have to be careful. I have had a turtle and a dog for about 8 years now, and nothing has ever happened...though my turtle is always in its tank.
 
I feel like secondaries are a good way for schools to weed out people who really don't want to go there. I just got a secondary for a school I'm not too, too thrilled about. Even though it's my only secondary right now, I definitely cannot bring myself to even look at it. Friggin' essays.

Yeah someone posted in the UVM thread that out of the 6000 people that apply, only 4500 of them complete the secondary.

Maybe completing every secondary quickly really will help me out🙂

Edit: E - I kill fish...I'm not allowed to have them anymore🙁

Wow, what the heck is in that secondary?

Haha, I think it will. I can tell already which schools are in my top choices based on how fantastic the essays are. 🙂

That's the thing!!! It was the easiest one yet!!!! No essays!!!

The worst thing in it was "have you gotten any speeding tickets in the last 5 years, if so, detail them below"

Wow, that's bizarre. Maybe there's a whole lot of crazy drivers that apply to UVermont. Although in my home state, there are so many speed traps that you could get a speeding ticket for going 38 mph. Ridiculous.

it's also a way for schools to make bank. like NYMC's secondary, absolutely nothing to fill out, just click submit, and bam, 100 bucks.

It's like if I asked guys to pay for dinner and a movie BEFORE I agreed to go out with them. After I get the cash, I tell them they're too ugly and send them away.

Well...first, I am big on conversation. People who aren't into conversation don't want to be in a relationship with me. If you're big on conversation then talking on the phone often is fun.

I also don't mind driving long distances or flying long distances often. I was with someone who lived 2500 miles away for 10 months of our relationship and we stayed together for another 2.5 years after that. You alternate visiting, you talk a lot, you have "interesting" phone conversations...😉

It just doesn't seem that bad to me. But also I don't really need someone physically around all of the time to validate me. The worst part is not getting regular sex, but you survive.

This. I did long distance for a school year, which sucked but actually isn't so bad if you're good at communication and the aforementioned "interesting" phone calls. Plus the reunion's great.

I can do it, but only when there's an end in sight. I don't think I'd want a permanent LDR.
