I am not offended at all. I was going to get you other jewelry, but I didn't want to be too forward...it has only been three days. Haha.

I agree, the puppy is adorable. I think my puppy is cuter though.

I want one house in town on the water and another on a 200+ acre wooded lot in the middle of no where. (Probably in SW Wisconsin)....I don't know if we can make this work Curbye.

starbucks has an energy drink that tastes like their bottled frappuccinos but with a bunch of other stuff. makes me super jittery though

never seen Mad Men but I really want to start watching it.

Just watched the beginning of season 4 of the tudors and am not pleased with Henry Cavill's hair, facial and otherwise. He needs to get reacquainted with a razor and/or scissors 👎
 
For those of you who thought that Christmas and Halloween were separated by a significant amount of time....I am here to inform you that you are incorrect.


At Costco, they got in both the first shipment of Christmas wrapping and bows AND a 3 foot talking skull.


So apparently, they happen in the same week now.

No mam...I had a puppy with my girlfriend in high school...and it was poisoned. And my gf broke up with me 2 years ago. Ouch, thanks for bringing that up. 🙁

This puppy is all my own. She is actually a little older now, but still really cute.

How do you make raspberry wine!? I think this needs to be done immediately. Or raspberry cordial. In Anne of Green Gables they drank raspberry cordial. I bought some in England because I was so enamored of the idea but never drank it because I couldn't bear to throw the bottle away. I am sure it is old and expired by now.

One is optional. But it deals with adversity in childhood and I have been advised that I need to write it because otherwise it will seem weird that I talk about it in other parts of my app (briefly) and then don't go into detail🙁

1. Personal Essay, 4000 chars:
Please answer the following: "Future physicians are expected to work in an interprofessional environment, meaning in a team of other health care professionals that may include people with a variety of backgrounds and skills. Using your own experiences, tell us how you have developed the qualities and values you believe are important and will bring to your role as physician-leader of the health care team."

2. Diversity Essay, 4000 chars:
Please discuss the diversity that you would bring to the OHSU School of Medicine and the profession of medicine. You may want to consider important aspects of your life experience such as early educational opportunities, socioeconomic status, culture, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or life/work experiences and how these circumstances have shaped your perspective of medicine and better prepared you to become a physician.

Ok, I wrote #1 and #3. Working on #2 right now. Blah. What is the consensus for how close we need to get to the characters? And does it effect your answer at all if I hit about 4,000 on the others? Like, could I do 2000 on the second one? I pretty much cover a good chunk of my "diversity" in the third, I think.

Wow, you're really on top of it. Did you already get the invite for the secondary? I think I might put off actually writing until I do just because I'm allotting most of my brain to genetics right now. I hope we don't need to get close to 4000 of we can be succinct in fewer. They get a lot of apps and I'm guessing they don't like fluff. Also, I'm not very "diverse" so #2 might be challenging.

No, I haven't gotten it yet; the only one I'm sitting on right now is Northwestern and because there are some similarities in what I am going to write, like a weirdo I am writing them simultaneously.

Because it is such a beast, and because it is one of my top picks, I wanted to be a little ahead of the game. I am trying to decide if I am going to take a vacation relatively soon, and I want to get these last 5 secondaries in quickly so they aren't holding me back.

I lost some SERIOUS momentum the last couple of weeks...luckily only one secondary suffered. I want to try to ramp it back up now though🙂

Ugh, me too. I turned in the first few lightning fast, and now I have one I've been sitting on for 2 and a half weeks. I'm losing sight of why I applied there...

Also, I still need to send a picture to one of my schools. I'm slipping up, kidna sucks. But it'll work out in the end.

I did the same thing. I finally got so sick of staring at it in my Gmail Tasks that I just bluffed my way through it and submitted it. It was painful.

I usually order just black coffee or americanos. Gets the job done quickly. If I'm feeling fancy I'll get an almond or caramel latte. And if I'm having a really bad day I'll get a white chocolate mocha, and drink my feelings.

Has anyone been to the Nordstrom EBar? Their Icestorms (like Frappuccinos) are absolutely AMAZING 😍 I can't go there without getting a caramel one. And then running like 5 miles afterward. 😛
 
Ok, can I ask another question I'm not supposed to ask?

I have not once mentioned my race in any of my diversity essays.

Is this bad? I honestly don't even know how to bring it up.


Edit: Duckie, I like soy lattes. Especially if it is plain soy, and not vanilla soy (ahem: Starbucks). Also, I LOVE tea. All kinds. No sweetener.
