I was actually just contemplating what I would make for the 4th of July. I'm thinking either an apple pie, or apple pie cupcakes.
I can pay for postage. Just in case you were baking extra...

Subway was so good!
I don't like subway, only because I prefer to actually have meat on my sandwiches
Would you say that you are a big fan of meat?I don't like subway, only because I prefer to actually have meat on my sandwiches
I don't even know what this means.
He likes meat.
I believe he was lodging a sly complaint about the amount of meat that subway uses in their various sandwich products. Cheerio. As far as I know, Subway has several menu items featuring meat products?

I've forgotten the names of my bosses at some of the jobs I've had, they probably don't even work there anymore either.

Awwww, I was too obvious. I probably should've just italicized meat.Nudge nudge wink wink. Say no more!
I just want to go home. Good TV tonight.
Understood. To the bolded: I think I might stray away from this thread for a while. I've never done anything ridiculous, but those words kind of freak me out a little.
👍 He's a shoo-in 🙂
For serious. 😀
Wish I was a shoo-in. 🙁 I'm probably a shoe-out at a lot of schools.![]()
Yeah, me too.
"Now, TMS, I must say I was impressed by your ability to quote every single line of 'Anchorman'. Do you think this speaks to your capacity to memorize large quantities of anatomical information?"
OK time to go out for some Texas De Brazil. Meat meat meat meat meat meat.
Vegetarians need not apply.
I'm going to be a total girl here, but my husband had 6 roses delivered to me at work. 😍 They are red roses, blue iris? and white baby's breath.
But... before I go...
We went through my entire application. It pretty much felt like an interview...
He ignored the cGPA. Looked at sGPA. Then he looked at verbal, then BS, then PS... ignored the WS completely.
Then we talked about my volunteerism, nature publication (didn't seem too keen on this one), then he looked at leadership stuff, then he said... "shadowing, shadowing, shadowing where is the shadowing... ah here it is... 200 hours of shadowing? impressive!"
Take home message? Shadowing is important, research is not all that important, even with a nature publication. cGPA means something, but not all that much to one adcom it appears.
Also, he gets to my personal statement and says... "well if it's grammatically correct then that's fine. we count on the interview to determine your true motivations for medicine."
You're married... *sigh* I need a girlfriend.
I would buy her dozens of red roses.
Don't forget the mayonnaise!
😍😍yeah.
Awww, how sweet 😍
I'll be your internet girlfriend 😀
(roses are my fav)
Congrats CodeBlu! That is some pretty awesome feedback from the adcom.
Nice 500th post, Buttermellow. Stylizing FTW and, no, I don't utilize mind-control. Or do I? 😵

I've heard conflicting things about this. I personally didn't get that much out of shadowing. Certainly didn't learn any more than I already knew about "what a doctor does." Mostly it was me thinking "ooh, that's a cool disease. I'll have to google that."
I've only shadowed a neurologist and some NP's (so not even "doctors"), and I really hope that doesn't end up biting me in the ass.
This probably varies much by school. Was this school very high on the research rankings?But... before I go...

ewww mayonnaise
I enjoyed shadowing just because I got to see some really neat stuff. I really enjoyed the ER shadowing I did the most because that is what I am really interested in.

AWWWWWW! that sounds totally adorable 🙂 now I wish I had someone deliver me roses 🙁 but eek! Occasion?? Or just because? 😍
(ugh, I'm such a sucker for romantic things 😳)

Agreed. I am not the biggest fan of mayo. If it's there, I'll eat it. If I make my own sandwich, I will do without it. Then again, it kind depends on the type of sandwich. Whatever. I will end my mayo ramblings.
