I've been reading the allopathic threads lately and I swear sometimes we're more mature than those med students.

Imagine all the dumb (not school dumb) pre-meds you know... most of them do eventually go on to medical school somewhere. The stupidity doesn't die out. It propagates.

She must be scared! I can't wait until we both get up there. Hahaha not like being 3rd isn't nice. I started out at like 10th a few weeks ago. At least I'm dedicated.

We're a special bunch. CNS on overdrive.

I don't sleep much as it is, maybe 5-6 hours. Lately, I've been sleeping less. It's just a weird rut for me. Stress etc. But then I post the heck out of this place.

Extremely. Got all secondaries received turned back in as of yesterday, and busting my ass in lab to have a paper in for submission/peer review by Sept. 1. I'm pumped, but working a lot of hours. How's things? You submit?

Yup. This whole application thing is pyscho. I don't even really have any application stuff to do right now and I'm stressed just waiting. :barf:

You're telling me! All my friends are investment bankers... or going into research. There's a few friends I have that are Pre-med who are doing what I'm doing. But we choose to not talk about application stuff. Cuz it keeps the sanity alive sort of. Plus once we start talking med school stuff, it never ends and it stresses me out even more.

I just want to get into a school. I'm so ready to kill M1 it's not even funny. I will study the **** out of those books.

How was the Duke secondary? I rethinking my decision to apply there, and looking at the prompts for the secondary is definitely not helping things out :laugh:

I think the secondary really gives you a chance to shine. The prompts are tough, and they're supposed to be. I really think it's great way to weed people out, because it is a lot of work, and the questions can reveal moral/ethical weaknesses and arrogance. Duke is a killer school with a bunch of great programs, and while Durham isn't great, North Carolina and the RDU triangle is awesome. You should definitely apply if you're considering it.

Yes, OMFG yes. I rethink my list all the time.... second guess myself sometimes. This process is really designed to be a test in and of itself. But we should all be fine. You guys have killer stats, though some EC's seem to have disappeared off of MDapps......????

There's a reason for the disappearance. When I met with an adcom at a school, we talked about SDN.. they say they read class specific threads. However, we deduced they were talking about their own school specific threads. In any event, I don't need some adcom lurking my post history on SDN.

Especially don't need them to know I'm a raging insomniac that posts like mad on SDN.

Yeah, I've given this some thought. My MDapps is definitely specific enough that adcom members can pick me out on SDN if they want. I don't say anything on here I wouldn't mind them seeing, though. I sometimes take my brief profile down... I don't know. I'm not really sure if I'd consider it a risk.

Oh... I dunno if you guys talked about it, but Duke definitely checks the school specific thread.

Considering that adcoms have their own lives they need to attend to, I don't think it's a huge risk. I certainly wouldn't track down the SDN profiles of everyone who applied to my school if I was an adcom.
