In other news, I totally got invited for an interview to Nebraska! I'm certainly glad I appealed that initial rejection! Heeere I come Omaha! Gonna get some California Tacos while I'm there FO SHO.

either the 14th, 21st, or 28th of October. Nebraska does this thing where if you pass the initial screen you get the "real secondary" where they let you pick your top three days out of whatever is available. Hopefully I'll hear back which day i got soon. Now I have justification for buying my plane ticket home for October!

Yeah, Nebraska is the only place I've heard of it. I think it's pretty normal for them to outright reject OOS people. I used the appeal option as sort of an essay since they don't have essays. I'm glad it worked out!
