So when I got the syllabus for one of my classes today I found out I will be missing a test for UTSW interview. Fortunately my professor understands and is willing to give a makeup

Yah, I talked to my stats professor and told him up front I'd be missing some classes this semester because of med school interviews. I asked him if I could make up any missing tests if I can provide documentation and he said no. He was like, I can't give make-up exams because of med school interviews.

...So hypothetically if I got an interview from a school that refuses to reschedule, and it was on the same day as a stats test, I'd have to take a 0 for a test grade or forfeit my interview 😡

I think this is pretty crappy. You are here to better your future, but not if it interferes with me teaching you that day.

I'm so grateful a lot of our state schools interview in August before classes start.

I think this is pretty crappy. You are here to better your future, but not if it interferes with me teaching you that day.

Yeah, and to make things worse, he doesn't put the test dates on the syllabus from the get-go. He likes to assign tests whenever he feels it's appropriate, based on when we finish a certain number of lessons. Makes planning difficult 🙄.
