Did you? To be honest, I was very, very disappointed with the film after having read the book. I don't even think my standards are that high -- unlike a lot of people, I actually thought The Da Vinci Code was a pretty good movie. I think there was way too much going on in A & D for it to be reduced to a 1.5 hour flick.

I did, but I say that not having read the book. I may feel differently after I read the book. I enjoyed the DC, and I want to read that book too, just need to get it.
 
I thought Digital Fortress was by far DB's best book. I thought they should've made that into a movie. A & D (the movie) was kind of disappointing, but not horrible.

I agree. Though I remember Deception Point being good, too.
 
book talk, you know what I read yesterday, Ultimate X-Men Collection Volume 3. Its so different than the current Uncanny X-Men continuity which is currently dealing with all the fall out from the Fear Itself event.

I love comic books. Its gonna be so weird placing that as my last book I read for my USC secondary

The last book I read was The Other Brain. Almost a textbook. With some neuro history.

Is that like An Anthropologist on Mars or The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat? I had to read those for some neuro classes

I don't know what those books are about, but this one covered mainly the latest and greatest in glial knowledge and current and potential avenues of research.

I'm so far behind on my 2016 thread reading. I've had two exams, a KU interview, too much homework, and started some new research.

Any crazy new developments among us?

I had 2 interviews this week! Now I have to go to class 7-930pm after a 3am-12:30pm flight (with layover)....

😴

Still in limbo with my other 30 schools..... 😕

Honest is the best policy... maybe call them graphic novels? I haven't read a book in a long time... I picked up a copy of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks though. I'm pretty psyched about it.

Well, here I am. Alive and well. Went out for dinner with a few friends that are med students here in the city. Stopped for CPK and some beer.

Interview was... um... INTENSE. My student interview was pretty standard, laid back, hit all my application points and fit for the school.

My faculty interview was a bit unorthodox... he saw my publication and well... let's just say I got put on the spot HARD.

I would have troubles staying awake after that flight. I hope you enjoy coffee :laugh:

And limbo>rejections though! You just have to keep your head up.

I hope it all works out for you. Surely this interviewer treated all of the interviewees similarly, so it can't count too much against you. I guess I'm lucky that if I get anything published, nobody in academic medicine or biology would have any expertise over it.

Yeah, my interview wasn't great, but only okay. But I am really in love with the school now!

Interview day at my school tomorrow. I sort of want to out myself to give all of the cute SDNers some reassurance.

Oh yeah, I'll definitely be calling it a graphic novel, but I'll probably read a decent graphic novel first or use one of the really great recent ones I've read. Like "I Kill Giants" OMG you guys have to read that if you get the chance, its so good (and sad too 🙁 )
I've been meaning to get that Henrietta book. The admissions lady from Mizzou suggested that to me with some other things that I'm now remembering that she told me i should read. but since I'm planning submitting USC tonight I'll just have to leave that up for the interview

you talking about me Cougs? well you would be if I was interviewing tomorrow but i'm not. Not even complete at any Cali school, hell I haven't even gotten secondaries from any Cali school other than USC and Drew 🙁

I can't sleep cuz I'm so exhausted from interview day today.

So I'm watching TV, eating taco bites, and binging on doritos... with a budweiser.

Oh the sad existence of post-interview limbo.
