Class of 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I realized today that I should not shower until I've had coffee. This morning I washed my hair with body wash instead of shampoo. Twice.

It's much more pleasing than 2015 isn't it?

2016 just looks beautiful.

This is very true for me. I applied 2015, but did not fit in with the others at all. I was a little bitter about having to start posting in here, but once I did you guys warmed my heart. You guys are part of my family. 😍

hmmm, i just realized I went into the kitchen with a bagel and an empty coffee cup, but returned to my desk with only a full coffee cup. oops

*leaves to retrieve cold bagel from toaster*

I have to thank idf (or i don't know, because every time someone says her name, idf, I read it as idk) and all of her food porn for reminding me that I haven't had my bagel yet. 😀

I've done this so many times.

I have also been known to go to the kitchen with my cup, put ice in it and return to my desk only to discover that I forgot to put water in too. 😳 :smack:

and I want to be a doctor? :scared:

I do the dumbest **** like that too. Don't even worry.

I'm going to my chiropractor while I'm home in Canada. Maybe he can untwist my spine and make me less dumb?

p.s. I love my chiropractor.

I'm at 3 right now, so I could still be here in 2 years. complaining about all the reading/studying I have to do. 😀

maybe they upped it to encourage people to stay beyond their application cycle (which is when i feel most people use sdn)

Totally true. I feel like post-application cycle use could be revamped. It's because of the stigma placed on the stereotypical SDN neurotic premed that people flee once they make it to med school. I wish there was a way to change it so that this forum could be used as a great tool throughout our education.

The allopathic forums are pretty comprehensive, but they just become less necessary. i think the top reason why everyone uses this site for apps is because it gives all this info your schools don't necessarily provide. whereas once you're in, your school probably is better at giving school-specific, insider info for exams and such.

i "hear" people come back to use it for applying to residency....😎

also, the hSDN forum impresses/scares me a little. HOW DO THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS

it makes me feel like i am culturally stunted. like when I learned about what 420 meant wayyyyy after everyone else 😳

I agree. I think once you are in school you are surrounded by people in the same situation as you and it is easier to find help/study groups/support. Plus the schools do what they can to make sure you don't fail.

****take mushrooms nadaba!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I know!! I swear I figured this stuff out only 3 years ago! (it was really more like 5, but I feel like I only "got" it about 3 years ago.)

Yes, I don't mean as a tool for insider info, I mean as a tool for networking. You're just coming into the scene now, but I feel as though I have met and talked with a wide array of people going to med school that will be valuable resources as we move forward. If there's one thing I've learned in my non-trad path, it's that networking helps. A lot. That said, I'd like to see the SDN community span beyond the app cycle so as to foster this networking atmosphere. However, the problem lies with the trolls and immature attitude on this forum. It prevents any sort of positivity coming from the site. I now declare a revolution!

That's a whole other can of worms 😉.

I like to read the funny threads they put up, but it would be great if they would post more helpful things.

Funny stuff is perfectly fine, and I think that is what the lounge is for. Humor is great when it's in the right place. It is really more so the condescending attitude mixed in with trolling that discredits the forum.
