I would just hate to sacrifice my last summer with the prospect of not obtaining a publication (which is possible since I'll only be there for 3 months). On the other hand if I turned it down I don't think I have the money to do anything memorable over the summer so I'd probably just end up playing video games (which isn't necessarily a bad thing 😛). In all likelihood I'll do a different project after M1 and M2 so I'll get an authorship or two eventually but if I can knock one off early that'll open up my options later. Oh the choices...

Tough one, but if you are making only a couple hundred a month and you are considering doing research during M1 and M2 summers, then it's probably better to take the time off. Play some video games, enjoy life 😉

agreed. if you dont see any longevity potential with this lab beyond next summer maybe it's not as big a question. i think building long term relationships is important if possible.

also, i was "browbeaten" into spamming it up in this thread...check somewhere around page 900 lol. ahhh, it makes me giggle to think how about a week or two ago i wasn't sure if i'd get in trouble with mods for posting absolutely nothing of medical relevance. repeatedly.

btw, on a completely unrelated note, has anyone read The House of God? Catch 22 meets life post-medical school in a parody of MGH and Beth Israel. It's hilarious, but slightly frightening.

I should really find more optimistic literature to read when traveling. 🙄

i only have her cd, but i saw her in concert and went in my halloween costume 🙂

i also wanted to go again as her last year, but you saw what my first one was....hard to top. was considering this...
