With invisalign it's not so bad... I'm waiting for my rebel cousin to finish dental school so I can get invisalign to fix this ONE problem tooth. No one notices it, but I know its there, and it annoys me.

Invisalign is so much more expensive, though (and my parents are footing the bill, so I don't think they'd appreciate that).

I just have a couple problem teeth in the front that aren't too noticeable, but I can feel them out of line and it bothers me.

Find a dentist who you can date for the duration of the treatment.

My cousin needs to practice making molds and stuff. So free invisalign.

I, too, had braces twice, starting in 4th grade and ending my sophomore year of high school (I got a brief respite in 7th grade). My money-grubbing orthodontist apparently thought it was a good idea to give me braces when I still had 5+ baby teeth (my family grows and loses its teeth pretty late). Anyhoo, my aesthetic issues could not be so easily fixed. I'm supposed to get veneers simply because my lateral incisors are "too small." The orthodontist said that's a condition referred to as "pig teeth." Have you heard a more crude/disgusting name for anything ever?

I didn't break that many brackets... I think I broke one eating an apple (I'm pretty sure they tell you to cut them up before you eat them, but who has time for that?).

Also, all orthodontists are money grubbing scoundrels. That's why they do orthodontics. Also, be very careful who does your veneers. (hehem Hilary Duff). Find a good cosmetic dentist.

I, surprisingly, have never broken a bracket. I did have wires that were out of place and kept poking me in the mouth. 👎 Needed to put some weird wax on it until I saw my orthodontist.
 
I also had braces for 4 years, right through senior year, senior pictures and prom 🙁 🙁

I have a permanent bottom retainer on behind my teeth. I never wear my top retainer though. Maybe I should start...

I don't have that permanent retainer. But I have friends who do. I remember this one girl broke hers... and literally lost it.

She felt naked without it. She's like I want it back.

You are a model orthodontic patient. Jealous. I broke... count em 14 brackets over the course of my treatment.

I know I know I should wear them haha. I have this gel type one for my whole mouth (the one you get after your braces are off and before you get the normal retainer) but I can't breathe while wearing it. I need to find my sparkly silver one.


I would feel naked without it too. I used to find it so annoying but now I'm used to it.
