exactly! I lost 10 pounds while there even though i ate and drank alot...

You know what, i lost some weight as well. I ate so much and oh boy did I drink.

Hmm, so many Europe stories. I had an opportunity to go on a cruise this summer, but I felt like I needed to stay in the US and shore up my resume 🙁

What countries did everyone go visit?

I studied abroad in Germany. Went to Austria and Prague. Wanted to go to Copenhagen, but boy that place is super expensive. the McDonalds dollar menu is really 3 dollars. I went to Munich instead and spent my Sunday morning at Hofbrauhaus and eating to my hearts content

I studied in Spain, went to London, Paris, and Amsterdam during my time there as well. I was going to go to Munich for Oktoberfest with this girl in my group, but the taxi driver in Barcelona took us to the wrong aeropuerto and we missed our (non refundable) flight.

Not far... I spent 2 weeks between London and Paris, and took a day trip to Versailles.

The definition of ostentatious. No wonder the French people felt compelled to cut off their king's head.

My parents picked out one of those "accelerated" tour packages, so we ended up going through England, France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium over a span of 2-3 weeks. Probably spent more time on the bus than I did sight-seeing

Ouch. I just trained everywhere. Trains are super fun. I met alot of interesting people.

The event that stuck at the most was New Years in Berlin. Its like Time Sq but with lots of European and drinks as far as the eye can see

Oh yeah, and I went when the Euro was worth 1.5 US dollars, i was hurting that whole trip.

I didn't spend New Years in Europe, but in Salamanca where I stayed they have this thing called Nochevieja which is basically a New Years celebration for all the international students that happens before we all leave for home. The Plaza Mayor was packed with a bunch of drunk students (both international and Spanish) and it was amazing.

That super hurts. When i went i think it was 1.3-1.4ish to a dollar so it wasnt that bad.

Yeah, it was probably the most ostentatious place I've ever been. The gardens outside were GORGEOUS. They went on forever, and there were elaborate fountains everywhere. I'd definitely recommend visiting if given the chance.

The Hall of Mirrors. Not sure who the random couple is, but you can see the extravagance of the place.

I couldn't stop laughing when I was there. I was just imagining what was going through the king's mind when he decided to build Versailles.

"Yeah. I'm totally going to build the biggest house ever. It's going to have gold and marble and everything. And it's also gonna have gardens."

"Bitches love gardens."

I didn't go to Versailles, but I did take a tour of the Spanish summer palace in Sevilla which was also pretty cool.

He was the Monarch to be then.

Love spanish architecture. Moorish influence for the win

Food in Europe is better. The ingredients are just BETTER.

I wish I was Swedish so I could attend the Karolinska Institute for Medical School.

I would definitely do that. I'm Swedish (only speak like 10 words though), and a friend of the family was an anesthesiologist over there. He always complained about the taxes and salary cap though . I wanted to go to a family reunion sooo bad a few years ago, but the trip to Goteborg was way too expensive.

But were you born there?

Being Swedish by descent doesn't give you Swedish citizenship. Trust me.

I've tried. 🙁

This is what I'm eating right now. Be jealous.

Espresso chocolate chip scones with coffee liqueur glaze.

Another Food pr0n type of day? Me gusta

It's the glaze on those scones that push it from "good" to "foodorgasm."

I'm heading out now, and all these food pictures have given me ideas for what I should get for dinner/desert.
