haven't looked at many of the school specific threads because most of my schools are Cali schools and I may not be offered the chance to fill out their secondaries 🙁

There a regular poster on here who attends Loma Linda. He says that their restrictions aren't really that big of a deal and that he breaks them on a regular basis.

well in addition to the no meat and no caffeine which already is a deal breaker. They have a strict no alcohol/sex policy. So strict that they make you sign a contract upon admission to the school. Not to mention that their religious affiliation is ingrained into the curriculum and mentioned in their secondary. I don't know much about the 7th Day Adventist religion to bs a secondary and i can't in good conscience sign a contract telling me not to live my life basically.

No alcohol, no sex, no meat, no caffeine. All 4 alone are deal breakers.

Together... just forget it. I understand having religious conviction and respect but in a secular society like the USA, especially California... that's just odd.
 
so i just heard what sounded like gunshots right outside my house just now. Hoping it was people blowing up firecrackers at 1 in the morning and not actual gunshots

I would say that out of all the schools with religious affiliations, they're probably the only one that indoctrinates it into the medical school curriculum. I dont think any other school does it to the extent that LLU does.

Its happened before in my neighborhood. Someone actually got shot the last time something like this happened. Saw the paramedics, cops, and investigators, everything. So kinda nervous that it might be that all over again :scared::scared:

I live in a pretty shady neighborhood in a shady city. Its also pretty low income and there's a few clinics nearby. But their doctors are all too busy for me to come and shadow them 🙁

I think it might be premarital sex, not sure. I mean with all the stress that we're going to be dealing with as medical students, why wouldn't they allow me to binge drink and have semi-regrettable one night stands? I need a way to relax you know?

I haven't heard shady things about Santa Ana! But then again I am not too familiar with the west coast.

I know Riverside is a little sketchville though.
 
I'm not and i have to volunteer tomorrow at 9. I haven't been on time to this session in forever.
